We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby in December so we will be canceling our Dec trip. We are considering moving it to October, which we have never done. How is the weather and crowds? I have always wanted to try MNSSP but what else is going on during October? Thanks for any info!

I will be there the first week of Oct and am curious about this too as I usually go late Nov, Dec.

It is still hot in October, mostly in the 80's during the day. It gets a little bit cooler at night, but generally it isn't sweater weather.

Crowds do thin out, but the hours are shorter. The crowds at MNSSHP vary depending on what day you go. We generally went on a Sunday night, but Disney changed the schedule this year and there are no Sunday nights.

I think MNSSHP is a "must see". We've gone every year for the last five years and we wouldn't miss it.

I'd be more than happy to answer any other questions.

We went last year for the first time the last week in October first week of November and it was great. We did MNSSHP and food and wine festival. It was nice weather(we usually go in the summer) and the F&W Fest. was outstanding. Lines are not that long, although Soarin and Test Trac seemed to have really long lines by 11:00am. I am with you as far as I am due with our first in October so I am trying to plan a 3 day trip in June because I do not know when we will get to go back. Good Luck with the pregnancy and have a fun a WDW.

We've gone August, Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec and Oct is one of my favorite times to go and just about ties with Dec.

I love October for the low crowds and the weather! It's usually beautiful. Hot but not too hot and not that much rain. Still good pool weather.

It's also low crowds.

I also love going to MNSSHP.

You will love it.

Crowds pick up around 20th as British schools have a week off then, so you will get an influx of us......The weather is usually pretty good, although you're still in hurricane season, so rain is a possibility.

Congrats on the pregnancy.October is a great month to visit especially for a pregnant woman. Not too hot and short lines. The longest line we waited in a few years ago was 20 minutes(for Body Wars no less). Everything else was a walk-on. We didn't have kids so I'm not sure of the lines for the kid friendly rides as we skipped those. Have a great time.

Last year, we were there during the first 2 weeks of October (Oct 3 to Oct 13)... wow, was it ever humid! The crowds were a bit more than what I expected but i have to say that we didn't follow the same "routine" that we had the last time. We got at the parks around 10-11am cause we wanted to be rested and enjoy sleeping in... well, at the time we got to the parks, it was crowded cause everyone was getting there at that time lol

I think this year, we'll do the same as we did before. Get up early, get there when the park opens, leave right after lunch and go hang out at the pool or just have a snooze... then wake up around 4:00pm, freshen up and head out for dinner and the "cooler" evening! If I was to be pregnant... I would probably go at the end of October ..seems to be less humid. Then again, I guess it all depends on the years. Its never the same.

I completely agree. I love October in WDW.

I am in the same boat as you...just found out due Dec. 24th. We usually go in November and are thinking about going earlier. Just curious...how late in your pregnancy do you think is the latest possible for your trip? I would love to go in October, but checked availablilty for the 1st week and it's booked at VWL. Now thinking about last week of Sept., although the F&W festival and halloween festivities sound like so much fun! Do you think later in October is too late to go?
