I am considering using nutrisystem - I think that maybe if I don't have to think about what am I eating and that it is pre-portioned/packaged it might give me the kick start that I need.

I would love to hear about others experiences with it and if it was worth the $$.

TIA

Rhonda

Today was my first day on it. I must say that I am NOT HUNGRY!!!

I will let you know what I ate:

Breakfast: 1 1/4 cup strawberries (about 9)
1 egg (or 3 eggwhites)
pancake mix that they provided

lunch: Nutrisystem chicken noodle soup
cucumbers
turkey (lunchmeat)

snack: Light yougurt
3/4 cup pineapple

Dinner: Nutrisystem pizza
2 cups raw carrots (its less if its cooked)
apple with peanut butter on it

After the gym, I get to have a Nutrisystem cookie

It took me forever to eat dinner because it was a lot of food.. I am so happy I decided to do this. I got to plan out my meals for the week. Everything is easy.. You just add fruit, veggies, dairy, and some meat

Everyone I know has done this and lost a good bit....

I am taking it one day at a time.. Today was good..

I tried it and sent the food back. The vast majority was nasty and was a lot of money in addition to all the extra groceies you have to buy.

Just my 2 cents.

I did it for about 3 months and easily dropped 25 lbs, the only reason I stopped was because it was too expensive for me.

Some of the food really is pretty gross, but I found what I liked (there was a lot of it) and that is what I would stick with when I placed my order. The key was finding what I liked and staying away from certain items. Some of the food I really enjoyed. You do have to add in fruits, vegetables and proteins but I found it very easy to do after reading the nutrisystem boards and getting ideas from other people.

I have been looking on ebay trying to get it cheaper, I need to lose more weight! Good luck!

I'm going to move this over to the W.I.S.H. forum. The members there are so helpful when it comes to sharing information about diet programs. I'm sure that someone there will be able to help you make a decision.

I found a lot of things on eBay that I bought too.. Its much cheaper and if you email the people, the want to get rid of the food so they bargain with you.

What foods would you recommend staying away from?

I didn't like a lot of the lunch items, I could not stand any of the pasta cups, chicken salad, minestrone, or black bean and rice. I stuck with the bars, mashed potatoes, bean and ham soup, tomato and corn chowder and split pea soup.

I really liked almost everything they had for breakfast with the exception of the cereals but I am just not a fan of any cereal.

For dinner there were many good meals but I didn't like the beef stew, mac and cheese, mac and cheese with beef, turkey tetrazzini, and three cheese pasta. Loved the lasagna!!

I had the cheese pizza for dinner tonight. It was not bad for being a thinkg out of a box. I feel so determined, I think I will eat what I got and learn from my mistakes. I have the split pea soup that I am trying tomorrow. I was also wondering if you ever ate more than they said.. like after your desert...
