New Year's Eve means nothing special to us as we don't drink or party (seems that's all people relate to New Year's Eve, plus my grandma died on New Year's Eve), but my DH really wants to go on a holiday sailing, and we don't return to school (teacher) here in Ontario until January 9th, so it seems doable.

We have priced out a Cat. 12 (2 adults, DD2) with no insurance, transfers or air for $2833.44 through Costco. We still have to add air, transfers or rental car, etc so the price is going to climb even higher - but we will be able to sneak a park day into it so we can use our AP, plus DDE card for meals for the day, plus points for a 1 night stay. We just returned from 2 weeks @ Saratoga as we are DVC members, so I am stressing about finances seeing as how we used our credit line to pay for DVC and we make monthly payments on it (only 3% interest); therefore, $4000.00 would do well on our credit line, but DH really wants to go on the cruise.

We have been on the 4 day Wonder and we all loved it! So, please tell me what special things to expect at this time of year on the Disney Magic.

Thanks, Tiger

We were on the 12-27-03 NYE cruise on the Magic. We aren't big partiers but we had a blast. Our kids were 12 and 16 at the time. There is a huge party in the Attrium with music, characters and a countdown, it was all broadcast into all the clubs and into the cabin TV 's if you didn't want to be with the crowd.
It was the ONLY night where there was much going on after about 11 pm. Disney cruises really are early to bed, early to rise cruises compared to the 6 others I've been on.
