I've never been to Narcoossee's, and it's one of the restaurants listed for 'Romance and Relaxation'--does anyone have any reviews of this restaurant? How's the service? On the Disney website, they have a picture with the Electrical Water Parade in the background--what time do you need to place a reservation in order to view it while dining? Is the food any good, and is it a good place for a couple to go?

It has been a while since we ate here. However, it was sensational! Excellent food, service, everything. Beware---my DH got prime rib and baked potato. Made the comment that the butter tasted odd. DBiL asked where he got butter. When DH pointed to the small cup he had put on his baked potato, DBiL informed him that was horse radish for the prime rib :lmao: . Needless to say, DH has not lived that one down yet. :rotfl: Some things are worth reminding people about. :thumbsup2

Seriously, Narcoossee's is one of the best restaurants we have eaten at. We've skipped it the past couple of times because I believe that it is a "grown up" restaurant, not for my DS. It would be an excellent choice.

My husband and I went there on our honeymoon for dinner as part of the 'romance package' .... we loved it! They even lower the lights and play the wishes music/performance over the sound system. You are invited to step onto the patio to enjoy the fireworks during dinner. We loved it and have ADR's for our trip in September.

We had great surf and turf at Narcoossee's in January. The service was a little slow, but the view of the MK fireworks were spectacular. Note....don't do Thunder Mountain Railroad after eating at Narcoosees. Kind of a waste of a meal if you get my meaning.

I took my mother there when she was down here for Mother's day. The food there was the best I've ever had... simply phenomenal. I had the salmon, and my mother had the ahi tuna (sp?)...both were done to perfection.

I'm starting to get hungry, so I'm going to end now. But it's really a great place. Most tables will have a nice view, and they also have a nice balcony to go out on to watch the fireworks and the parade.

This is going to sound like a really dumb question: I don't do seafood, so that's why we haven't done Narcoosee's ... is there anything on the menu that isn't seafood??

I don't do seafood - but Narcoossee has a great steak. Better than the Flying Fish. (DH is a seafood person so on vacation we go to a lot of seafood places.) I really liked mine, and DH loved his tuna, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We were seated with a view of the castle. I'm kinda sad that with DS's table manners, we won't be going there this trip.

First would note that you really can't "see" (or hear) the Water parade that well from inside the restaurant. As with wishes, it's best seen from the deck outside. I also don't think it's particularly "romantic"--in fact, it's rather noisy.
AS for the food and service--here's a review I did from our last trip.

I'm considering taking my inlaws there on our first night. This means our kids will be going also. DS7, DS6 and DD1. Will we be okay there? We've done Yachtsman several times with this group and seemed okay.

You children will be fine there. :sunny:

You sure about that...cause they aren't "fine" anywhere

hahahaha....... I was wondering the same about my 3 yo little terror oops I mean "handsome little boy"... *that's what my mother calls him*

we took ds5 to Narcoossees in April on our honeymoon and had a great meal. Your little ones will be fine there and the food is fantastic :thumbsup2

Glad to hear so many good reviews. My DH and I have an ADR there in Sept. Our DD6 and DD9 will be going to the kids club at Grand Floridian (Neverland Club?) so we have have a nice romantic dinner.

We are concedering using the 2 credits at Narcoossee.

Thank you, thank you for this thread. I posted a similar several weeks ago, with not much of a response. A search on the board didn't come up with much either. We are dining there on 11/24, ADR at 9:00, so we can see Wishes. When I made the ADR, I asked the CM who to call to order a cake, as it is my parent's anniversary. He said "don't worry about it, I will note this on your ADR, and they will take care of it." I am not sure whether or not to trust this, or call again to try to order a cake. Sorry to hijack your thread, but a big thank you!

I went for my HoneyMoon

Had a great lobster and steak, and the desert was great :thumbsup2

Loved the fireworks and the entire experiance was great :teeth:

All you need know is that they have the best dessert on property! Save room for the almond crusted cheesecake!

We are dining there on our last night in October with DS9, DD7, & DS2. Hoping it will be a memorable last night. Keeping our fingers crossed that the children will cooperate. Do they have things to keep the kids busy while we wait for food - ie crayon etc?
