We are leaving Northern California this Sunday at about 7 am, so we plan to hit the park at about 2 in the afternoon.

What will the crowds be like with it being Mother's Day/Tinkerbell Marathon?

Where exactly does the Marathon take place?

When does it end?

Thanks so much

It's hard to determine how the Half Marathon will impact the parks because it used to be held on MLK Day weekend, meaning that the following Monday was a day off for most runners (so they would visit the parks after on Sunday and travel home on Monday).

The Half Marathon, like most Disneyland races, takes place before the parks open because it runs through the parks (and then through part of Anaheim), so it will be completely over and all road closures will be removed by the time you arrive.

This is the first May marathon. Generally the day of races tend to be crowded because runners go to the parks with their medals. As PP said, they may not stay late because there's no Monday holiday. Crowds usually pick up on Sundays around noon and Mother's Day is usually pretty crowded in the afternoon with many APs coming to the parks after church/brunch etc.

Also, some people are hitting DL for the new Haunted Mansion addition which materializes on Saturday. Expect Sunday to be the people who didn't get to go the first day.
