Tell me about May?

I am starting to get a little worried, we just booked a last minute trip in May and now I am seeing alot of the resorts are sold out. We have only gone in September when the crowds were low. Has anyone had any experience they could share with me? I am staying May18th-26th at POR.

We went in May a few years ago and the weather was a bit hot for me (low/mid 30's), a little humid. Crowds were fine. We would get to the parks for rope drop, stay until about 11 and then leave. Got to do everything. It's fun to go to the back of the Magic Kingdom and ride splash mountain and big thunder mountain half a dozen times each with absolutely no wait what-so-ever. May is a great time to go.

Our last two trips have been the first week of May. Weather was hot, crowds were manageable. Longest wait may have been about 40 minutes, TOT and soarin. We are going again this year April 28 to May 5. Hoping for the same results, but with the 4/3 deal who knows.

We're going April 28 - May 5 too! But not until next year.
I went in May about 15 years ago and the parks were EMPTY. We could walk onto Space Mountain repeatedly with absolutely no waiting. I think the only thing we waited in line for was Splash Mountain. Of course I'm sure the crowds have changed quite a bit since then!

This will be our 4th year in a row. The weather for May has been hot but not to hot.
In the last three years it had only rained in total for about a half hour. The crowds are not that bad. Have a great time.

I know historically that May has been pretty good, but UG has predicted higher crowds for May than in previous years. I can't give exact rating numbers (as I'm not allowed to do that on here), but I will tell you that it's much higher than I'd like to see. I guess it's because of the 4/3 deal.

We've been down the past few years in May and can say that each year we've seen an increase in crowd levels ... however, it's still not as buy as when we've gone in October ...

Early May is less busy than later in the month. Memorial day weekend (23rd to 25th this year) is usually busy. Many southern schools let out before the end of May.

Although the Disney resorts may be filling because the 4/3 deal, offsite hotel bookings are down a lot this year (I think I heard the number 12%), so that will likely counteract the increase somewhat.

We will be staying at ASMo this year, May14-24. We have been to WDW twice in April and twice in May. We preferred going in May as the weather was more consistently warmer. DH really dislikes the heat/humidity normally, but has found it comfortable to visit in May. We have never had a problem with the crowds in May...most school breaks are over.

We are going a week later that we have before...running into Memorial Day weekend. Hopefully the weather nor the crowds will be too extreme. Spoke to a few people who were there for our school break (Mar 14-21) and they did not find the parks to be overcrowded even then.

ALWAYS expect a lot of people and you will ALWAYS be prepared...and may even be pleasantly surprised by how UNcrowded it may actually be. We always find warm weather can be dealt with...there's lots of a/c, pools at resorts or water park options.
