Tell me about Marineland in Canada?

Thinking of adding it to our plans but don't have alot of time in that area so don't know if it is worth it? We do love Sea World though.

Our other choice if we don't go to marineland is to stop for on the way home at Cedar Point just for that evening. They have reduced prices starting at 4 or 5 pm till closing.

Have a 13 yr. old and dad who would like to ride a coaster or 2. but also have a 4 yr. old and myself that don't do coasters!

any advice on marineland?

As it has been about 18 years since I was last there. I do remember it being lots of fun and very nice but not on the scale of Sea World in Orlando though.

You should post over on the Canadian board and see what the 'others' say!:D

After having visited Sea World Orlando I really don't think you'd enjoy Marineland as there is just no comparison to Sea World.:sunny:

It's no comparison at all!! Just so you know. I'd go w/ Cedar Point. There's tamer rides for you and your 4yr old.

I really was not impressed with Marine Land. Especially the cost of it. Now at the time I got a good deal but I just remember looking at the price thinking that I couldn't afford to take my dgrdd's there, way way too expensive for what you get.

Nothing like SeaWorld.

The lines for the rides are very long, and there is a ton of walking between attractions. The cost is high, and the food questionable. On the positive side, you do get to touch a beluga (sp)whale for free and feed the bears and deer. I have not been to seaworld in 14years, but remember it being so much better than Marineland, where I have been 3 times in my life as its only 4 hours from where I live.

I wouldn't go there. It isn't like Sea World at all. Then animal enclosures aren't very nice. The rides are typical to a roaming amusment park. I think Cedar Point is probably a better choice.

I haven't been to Sea World for ages and you probably can't compare it to Marineland, but we went to Marineland last summer and loved it! They have a neat area where you can feed the whales (I think it cost $5 per person and there were 2 types of whales, belugas and I can't remember the other type). The kids loved feeding the fish (these fish were sooo huge!!!) and the bears as well (you throw the food down to the bear area; the bears are so cute and you could swear some of them are waving at you to catch your attention!). You can also feed the deer and goats. They have rides like at an amusement park, including a big roller coaster. They also have a whale show, which I thought was so-so but the kids loved it (especially when the whale slapped the water with her tail and everyone in the first 2 rows got wet!).

We arrived at Marineland at around 11am and stayed until 7pm. Again, it's no Sea World but if your kids like feeding animals and whales, then they'd probably enjoy it. Haven't been to Cedar Point so I can't compare the 2 parks.
