Tell me about Lidl

just found out we are getting one near by so wondering what it will be like? Is it similar to Aldi which I love?

Its very similar to Aldi with a large section of "goods" compared to Ali,
Our Lidl and Aldi are directly across the intersection from eachthoer, they have the same amount of groceries but Lidl has twice the "goods"

The main thing I like to get these is their open stock of fresh bakery items. Lots of their items there remind me of stuff we got to have when we lived overseas. They actually bake them fresh in store.

I'd look up some of their circulars to get an idea of what they carry. Much like Aldi an item they have on one trip, they are most likely not going to have the next time you come back. They do have a regular supplier of their meats, milk, eggs, etc. But boxed items like pasta, cookies, rices, spices, chips change out very often.
You never know what their going to have in their "goods" section each time you shop. Sometimes it could be camping tents or lawnmowers, other times it could be small ironing boards and shower curtain. Def a variety each time.

* I forgot to add when our store opened, they had some opening day events. One being that if you downloaded their store app and showed it to them on your phone, you got a free shopping bag. Holy heck those things are very nice and I still have/use mine lots 1.5 year later. It has brackets that stretch across the cart with a cooler box built in. then you just load everything back up into it and hull it to the car, very nice bags.
