For quite a long time now, my dream has been to see Disney around Christmas time. I love Christmas and I love Disney so its only natural for me to want this...
I just got back from a 7 day land and sea vacation to the World and I was left wanting so much more magic after only 3 nights on land. So I thought that I would take another trip this December. I know that it is usually busy around Thanksgiving and the week that schools are off so I thought that a long weekend (12/9 to 12/12) in the beginning of the month would be good.
How are the crowds at this time? Will I get to see all the Holiday things (parades lights decorations) and am I crazy to go on a second trip this year? Tell me what you think.

:wave2:
My DH and I visited WDW the first week in Dec. 2000. All the Christmas decorations were up and the parades etc. It was beautiful. I would love to go that time of year again. My DS and I will be there is Oct. this year. Which is a nice time also. But, Christmas is my favorite. The weather is a little cooler in Dec. so my DS wanted to go when he could still go to the water parks. So we will have to save the Dec. trip for another year.
I think it is wonderful if you can go on another trip so soon. I wish I could go more often.
Have a wonderful trip.

:jumping2: It's the MOST wonderful time of the year!

You are definitely not crazy. As long as it's within your financial means, then go for it! Christmas is THE most magical time of all! I love Disney at Christmas. When we lived in Florida, we always went about the time you're planning on. Crowds are good because kids aren't out of school yet. The weather, although unpredictable, is usually perfect! And the whole feeling of the decorations, music, etc. is AMAZING! All the holiday "stuff" (Osborne, parades, etc.) is in full swing, so you'll get to see it all. Wish we could go this year, but we couldn't pass up the free dining offer so we're going in October. Christmas 2006 I'll be there with the whole family (12 of us) the actual week of Christmas. It'll be fun, but the crowds can be ugly. Your plan of timing is really good. Go and have a GREAT time! :earboy2:

Well, I think I can help you there. We have been during Christmastime. As a matter of fact, our first trip was for Christmas and we did the land/sea thing. I personally thought some of WDW was nice at Christmas, but Christmas is a very special time of the year for me. I was not feeling "it" while there during Christmas. The parade for MVMCP was cool, the decorations were nice, but the spiritual and Christmassy feel was just not there for our family. The crowds were not bad at all.

We were there last year at around that time and it was absolutely fabulous. Like visiting a new park.....The decorations and osbourne light show are breathtaking. It is a great time of year to go....a bit before the crowds get heavy. The weather can get unpredictable, so pack a little of everything....

I am already thinking of a December 2006 couples trip for me and DH.....I think I can convince him...I'll do my best when we are there in July, the magic of being in WDW always works.

Oh and if you can splurge, definitely try doing MVMCP. Well worth the $$$$$.

And no you are not crazy for wanting to go back. as much as I loved my cruise, I really missed not being able to stay in the world a little longer.

I had been wanting to go to Disney at Christmas time for years and finally got the rest of the family on the same page and all 10 of us went just this past December 2004.

Being from Ohio, it was very strange to see all those trees and decorations mixed it with the palms trees and when it was 85 and sunny! :rotfl:

Disney really goes all out with the decorations, it was really something.
My brother even said "Why would you come at any other time?"

It was really beautiful and I'm really glad I went.......BUT, I think I prefer Disney un-decorated! Don't ask me why, I can't really put my finger on it, but I went back five months later in May and for some reason I just liked it better without all the Christmas stuff up! -- I know, I know, I'm a weirdo!

I've never been to WDW around Christmas and probably never will be. :sad2:

I could never get into the Christmas mood without being bundled up in a warm jacket and a scarf, although I'm sure the decorations and parades are wonderful.
