Tell me about Indiana Jones. What ages is it for? What if you haven't seen the movies? (I have, but my kiddos haven't...)

Would a 6, 7, and 9 year olds who haven't seen any of the movies enjoy this at all? We've skipped it on the last few trips - Is it time to add it in on our itinerary? I'd love to hear from others....

Thanks!

When we went & DD was 6 & DS was 3, we watched the Indiana Jones show. The kids had not seen the movies and it had been years since I had. DD was impressed with the stunts. Before we went last fall & DD was 8 and DS was 5, we watched "Raiders of the Lost Ark." It added a lot to their experience of the stunt show. They "got" more, because they remembered seeing those scenes in the movie.

So, if you can, watch the movie. If you can't, still see the show. It's a lot of fun & may actually pique their interest in seeing the movie later.

It's one of my ds' (10) top favorite attractions at all of the parks. It's a must-do for us on every trip since he loves it so much. He has seen the movies, but he could sit there all day watching the stunts in person.

I think if you've seen "Raiders of the Lost Ark", you can 'connect' some of the show to what you saw in the movie. But even without having seen the movie, it's a fun and entertaining stunt show... I mean, Stunt Spectacular ;)

Your kids are a great age for this show. Have fun! And nobody in my family has seen the movie.

Indy is great! I've been looking forward to the new movie for almost 5 years and can't wait til it comes out in '08!! my almost 5 daughters favorite movie is the last crusade, number 3. She quotes it with me when we watch it. she's looking forward to the stunt show. i've only seen it once in 98, i know it hasn't changed, but it will be one of the first things we see at mgm! we watch the last crusade about once every other week. my daughter is easily influenced into 80's movies by her mom and dad

When our son was about 3 yrs old (this was last year) he watched a DVD of the Indiana Jones Show at MGM. At that point he had already been to WDW twice and seen the Indiana Jones show on both trips, but maybe he was too young to remember it then. But after watching the IJ Show on DVD at age 3, he was hooked! I kid you not, we have watched that DVD atleast 100 times since then. He acts out the ENTIRE show!! If Indiana Jones brushes his hands off on the his back pockets, our son does that. When Indiana Jones holds up the little bag of sand and tosses it up in the air a couple times before removing the statue, HE DOES THAT!! He jumps around as if the spikes are flying up thru the floor and getting him, just like IJ does in the show. For Christmas this past year we got him a really nice suede Indiana Jones hat that fits him pretty good (found it on ebay for $5.00!!) and he wears it all the time! Then my mom gave him this red scarf that he continuely asks me or Grandma to put it around our head like Marianne does in the IJ show! Then he holds our hand and runs around the house like he's rescuing us. So from our experience the show is great for the young & old. I might mention that our son had never seen any of the Indiana Jones movies either. (I think as a whole they are too violent for him yet, although I love the movies.) During our last trip this past December it was the first time our son had seen the show in person since he had become obsessed with it on DVD. He loved it!!! We then stayed after the show and met Indiana and Marianne. Our son was a little intimidated by his "god" becoming all too real and face to face, but afterwards he couldn't stop talking about it. And still today you ask him who he wants to see during out next trip to WDW this October.... Indiana Jones & Buzz Lightyear! Buzz is also one of his favorites. I've never posted pictures on the Disboards, but if I can figure out how, I'll post pictures of him and IJ.

Like I said, our son was a little shy when talking face to face with Indiana Jones, but couldn't stop talking about it afterwards! Same with Buzz Lightyear... DS drove us nuts that in most the pictures of him with the characters he looks miserable, but is so excited afterwards. By just looking at our pictures you'd think he went kicking and screaming! :rotfl: What horrible parents we are for taking our 3 yr old to WDW 3 times already!!

Watching the movie beforehand makes it better because you can directly relate the stunts to scenes in the movie. But it's not essential to enjoy the show. As a kid, I always found it fascinating to see who action scenes in movies were really done. It's a very good stunt show with lots of things blowing up, people falling off high buildings, etc.
