Thinking about going in February during the kids vacation week. Someone said you can't go wrong no matter when you go to HHI.

So will the weather be decent? We certainly don't need superhot, but "warm" would be nice (it'd consider 60 acceptable, lol~!)

Is this off-season and things will be closed? Any info would be appreciated.

I'm sure you'll get more replies, but I just wanted to say that we stayed there for 2 nights at the end of Jan. last year (after our Wonder cruise) and it was a little drizzly and in the 50's/barely 60. My kids still enjoyed going into the heated pool. They wore their winter clothes over their suits. The cm's were happy to hand out towels to them. In the evening, there was a campfire with s'mores. There were other activities, but we didn't get a chance to participate. We walked to the beach by the path/road and got a little lost, but enjoyed walking on the beach and looking around the beach house. The snack bar opened. The shuttle was running for the kids to ride back while DH and I walked again. I think there is quite a few ways to keep busy or just relax in HH as long as you know it won't be warm.

it's really hard to say. I am in Columbia, SC right now and it is in the 60's. We were at HH last PResident's day weekend and on Saturday it was int he 70's and swimming was fine. The next day it was in the 40's. I will say the ocean is to cool to swim in but if it is in the 60's the pool is fine. There are lot of things to do at HH and these days, most things stay open in the off season although the stores do tend to close down a little earlier. Take a side trip to Beaufort or Savannah. BOth are beautiful old SOuthern cities. Take the Dolphin cruise, do the nature walks. There are so many things to do you probably won't miss the beach.

We're fine without the ocean... The kids i'm sure would want to swim in the pool though!

One of the biggies for me would be to make sure that there will be things to do like the dolphin cruise mentioned. I wasn't sure if things like that were available during the "winter" months.

With the kids we aren't into the night life so we're basically just looking for things during the day, like pool, maybe dolphin cruise, nature walks and other things that would interest the kids.

We went to HH last year during President's week (and drove throught that big snow storm in the North east) and arrived to cool but much nicer weather. Not exactly beach weather but DS15 was in the heated pool every day. Scheduled activities during the day on sight and plenty on mini golf close by. Enough to do during the day but still a relaxing peaceful vacation. We love it at HH, good for a week away from NY and not as far as Fla.
Maybe we'll see you there 2/16-2/21.
Have a happy new year!

This Feb will be our 4th President's weekend at HH. The weather has been fine for us. The kids swim in the heated pools no matter what! Last year we did the kyaking (sp?) trip, and the year before we did a sailing trip(not though the resort).
The kids enjoy the activities, fishing, bike ridding, swimming, and the planned activies too. DH and I really enjoy relaxing, walks on the beach, and hot tubbing!:hyper:
I always call the resort a few days before our arrival day, and ask them to fax me a copy of the activities for that week. Then we can all deside on the things we want to do.
BTW...we did the horseback ridding on the beach last year and had a ball!
We will be there again 2/13 to 2/16

We live in nearby Charleston, S.C. and today was sunny and warm (mid 70's).
