We have never been here, but DS3 loves character meals so we are thinking about trying it for dinner.

What does everyone think- yes I'll take the good and the bad :thumbsup2

Thanks!!

We had lunch at Garden Grill in February. We also enjoy Character meals and had never done this one in our MANY visits to the world. Our group was me, DD11, my sister, her husband, her DS2 (almost 3), her DD1, and her husband's parents. We had two tables of 4 next to each other. My nephew was in heaven. Mickey, Goofy, Chip, Dale, and Pluto all came around to our table at least 2 times. Nephew could hardly contain himself he was so excited to see "those guys." Excellent character interaction.

Also, the food was pretty darn good. The dessert plate was really good, but we'd eaten too much lunch and didn't have room to ask for more dessert.

Our wait person, whose name escapes me, was fabulous. He was really into the spirit of the whole thing and was very attentive.

All in all, we had a great experience and I would recommend this restaurant. We had lunch, however, so I'm not sure if dinner is the same.

We had dinner here last September and we loved it!! I booked it again and we will do lunch here instead because we have booked Le Cellier booked for our dinner. Very yummy and the kids will love it!!

Garden Grill has always been one of DW and my favorite places to eat in WDW... as Orlando locals I would guess we've eaten there at least 20 times in 11 years here. The food is always good, often excellent, and service is great. We enjoy watching the characters interact with children (none at our table until DGD- now 1- is old enough to enjoy going there with us).

I will say that the recent renovation of the restaurant and the menu left the place a little more hifalutin' and less "down home" than it used to be. No more "family style" skillets- they bring you a plate of food. My preference was for the old way, but of course others will prefer the new way. Disney has such a tough task satisfying those who want things to be the way they remembered them last visit and those who want improvements and new things. :confused3

We went to GG in March and really enjoyed it. The food was great, service was very attentive and character interaction was great as well. We went for lunch because it is cheaper. The only difference in lunch and dinner is that dinner comes with a salad. Being a salad lover, I asked if I could order a salad at lunch, along with my meal. You can, and it is a minimal extra charge. I am thinking around $2 or $3 dollars? Can't remember.
Staff was great and my kids loved that the restaurant spins. At first they didn't believe us because it moves so slow you can't tell. But eventually you look up and the atmosphere has changed! Also you get to see part of that one ride, the one boat ride that shows how they grow the plants and veggies. Pluto was great here. My 8 year old wore his Goofy hat and Pluto took his hat off and crammed it in his mouth. That is all my son talked about, how Pluto "ate" his hat.
