Tell me about Fullerton

I'm putting it out there... I want to move back up to the OC. I grew up in Stanton, went to Cypress High and lived in Lake Forest after college. Now we're looking to move back. We miss family.
I'd love to live in Orange and the neighborhood around the circle looks pretty good, but tell me about Fullerton. Are the schools good? Are there too many college students?

Fullerton wouldn't be my first choice. In that area, which includes Fullerton, Brea, Placentia, Anaheim, Buena Park, La Habra, I would say Brea as the most desirable then Placentia. I think Fullerton is better than La Habra and Anaheim and I don't have an idea how it compares to Buena Park. I looked in this area before we moved to S Orange County 16 years ago and wasn't pleased with what I found in Fullerton. After researching the schools and environment, we narrowed it down to only Brea and Placentia. We didn't end up moving there because soon after my DH got a job in Irvine, so we moved south of there--much better area in IMHO. You can find a bunch of stuff about the schools on the internet. Just do your research, but if this area is close to work, a short commute is sure a wonderful thing--and worth a lot.

I've lived in Fullerton, Anaheim (2 minutes from DLR), and Tustin during college.

Fullerton, near campus, is definitely over-priced and full of college kids.

Anaheim, not as nice but I didn't really care. The price was cheap and I was super close to the 5 and 57 freeway and Disneyland.

Tustin, a nice area with a higher income. It's definitely pricier but about 15 minutes from Anaheim. It's nice to be closer to the beaches though, the weather is perfect.
