Tell me about fuel rods

I swapped for free last Sunday at the Small World Gift Shop. I do have a founders account, but was never prompted to enter anything to get the swap. I just inserted my used Fuel Rod and a new one was dispensed.

Swaps are still free at Disney however they are not anywhere else.

Did you need the "Founders Account" (or whatever its called) to exchange for free? I remember filling out the form, but never received anything from them. We only use them at Disney, so I wasn't too worried about it at the time.

Edit: Oops, I misread your 2nd line at first. If you just bought, then it may not apply.

I see that this was already answered but will again confirm that swaps were free.

Are fuel rods still at Disneyland? I have 2 anker chargers but 3 people will be using them. It seems like my battery always drains faster at Disneyland, and now with Genie + etc I'll be using my phone even more. So I might invest in fuel rods if they are still an option.

We got one last time because we forgot our regular power bank charger.

1) I found that I needed to swap out the charger 3-4 times a day as they never had much of a charge
2) I was always detouring to the swap spots
3) all swaps were free for the couple of days we were there
4) I would plan ahead and have a quality charger as it will do better for charging and probably costs the same or less and delivers more power

bottom line they work in a pinch if you forget yours but are not worth the cost and hassle of a little bit of pre-planning

I bought mine months ago and it was well worth the $30. But I go to Disney a lot since I’m in the Disney College Program in Florida

FYI - Amazon sells the same exact fuel rods for $30 for two of them. So it’s way cheaper than getting them in Disney. Then you can trade them in for full ones in the parks when you use them.
