We are considering waiting and going in Feb (23rd-March 1st)for DH's birthday. I'm a little disappointed about missing the Christmas festivities, but hope to go next Dec also.

So, all you vets out there...tell me why I want to go in Feb and why I don't.

Any rides already scheduled to be down?

What are the typical hours?

How are the crowds?

Thanks! :wizard:

February is our second favorite month to go.:thumbsup2 I noticed that your name is LittleBlackRaincloud, well... if you don't mind a little rain you are good to go. We went about 5 years ago in Feb and loved it. It rained alittle- sprinkled for us. We are from OR Will. Valley where it rains all winter so a little rain didn't stop us but it does everyone else. They do close some of the rides but they are normally opened soon. We waited for Cal. Screamin in a store and when we heard the coaster we ran to ride it before they closed. We rode it 8 times in a row and they didn't even make us get off:cool1: - no one else was in line! That was great!!! My youngest DD found the camera and started posing!
Week days they close at 8pm for DL and 6pm for DCA but Fri and Sat are always later- midnight I think.
You can check the refurbishment schedule at disneyland.com. IASW should be up though. I am sad cause we miss this one again... we missed it last time becasue of the holiday overlay.
Have a great time whenever you decide to go!!!!

Thanks for your reply! I hadn't thought about rain, but I don't think it would bother us much either. I'd just have to get some stroller covers. Does it rain everyday that time of year?

Also, what are the chances of us seeing Fantasmic, fireworks, and the ELP?

We went in Feb this year and had perfect weather - cool mornings and evenings, warm during the day. Just a few rides down for refurb, none of the e-ticket ones though.

I strongley suggest avoiding Pres day weekend - which is when we went. High crowds over the weekend. Even so, we had a great time and made good use of fast passes. Lines weren't too bad but walking around in crowds like that could give a person an anxiety attack! lol.

We went one Feb and it was mid-80's the four days we were there. Another time it didn't make it to 60 during the day and was in the 30's at night. The other few times were a collection of 60's weather and/or rain. It's our second favorite month of the year at DL, December being our #1.

I agree with Jenn, President's day weekend is crowded and some students get an entire week off - We travel the weekend before.

Sounds great weather and crowd wise! I'm still holding out until I find out if fireworks, Fantasmic, and the ELP will be possible. I'm thinking yes to the fireworks and Fantasmic on weekends, but no to the ELP. Can anyone verify?

hey ill be there that week for my DS second bday!! (feb 22)
like others...last feb we went and got rained on...it was very on and off, but as long as you have ponchos, you're good:thumbsup2 its a little hard with a baby, but the low crowds are worth it!!:goodvibes
and we also didnt get to see fireworks or fantasmic in feb:( maybe things will be different next year though! although....we did go in jan the year before last year and it wasnt playing then either!:confused3
