My DD (6) really wants to go see Fantasmic. I also have a DS (3). We have never seen this show but I have read on different threads that it is a little scary. How scary? Is it really hard to get a seat? Any tips on getting a good seat? What time should we arrive for the show? Thanks!

I loved Fantasmic, we took my DD when she was just over 2 y/o, she enjoyed it until the "villan" part which was dark and loud. She cried and didn't like that one bit!

I think your kids will be fine. My 2 DD love it although my younger one was a bit nervous a couple of times when she was about 2. She's fine now. It is sometimes dark, loud and has a couple of villians on the stage, pretty far away. If you sit up close, you can get a little wet too so sit further back.

It's an amazing, wonderful show and we MUST see it every trip now. My 8 year old told me it's the highlight of her trips.

I don't know when you are going but it is very popular and most people line up about an hour before they even let you in to sit and then you must sit for about an hour too.

That is why I do the dinner package and then I get a voucher which allows me to enter about 45 minutes before the show begins.

I say go for it!

Hi 720L,

You know your kids better than anyone! Neighbors of ours have a 5YO and a 3YO and the 3YO was fine but the 5YO was terrified.

If they are afraid of loud noises, villain characters, ominous music, and fire, they might be afraid at Fantasmic. But there's a happy ending and a lot of upbeat stuff too.

As for what time to get there, it all depends on the time of year you are going. You could also look into a Fantasmic Dinner Package which will guarantee you a seat without having to line up extra early. Here is a link:

Hope this helps!

It does depend on the kids. They are less likely to be afraid of the villains if they know them. My DD could name all the villains and therefor knew there was nothing to be afraid of. She was 3 when we first saw it. She never liked loud music, noises, etc. but I let her wear earplugs through most Disney attractions. As for the wait, well yes it is long. We like the primetime cafe for dinner so we never do the dining package. I think overall it's worth it. In my family, we refer to a "DISNEY MOMENT" as the moment when, after you've done the planning and arrangements and maybe you've done some stuff there and it's all flying by like any other trip. Then all of a sudden you realize you're at DISNEY WORLD!!! And you just sit back and enjoy. well, fantasmic is alway smy Disney Moment. Even I, at 29, get a rush of excitement when the lights come up and Mickey's is on the top of that mountain!!! Be prepared....prepared to enjoy!!

We took our dd last year who was 3 at the time and she LOVED Fantasmic. Before we left, we told her that the villians were always pretending to be scary. It really helped her to not be afraid of the darker characters and some of her favorite characters are villians. She wants to be Malificent for Halloween this year!!!

It really depends on your child. I thought there were some darker parts of the show, but overall it has a happy theme which kids seemed to really enjoy.

I strongly recommend the Fantasmic dinner package at Hollywood and Vine if you have younger kids. You get a pass to sit in special seating. Otherwise, you have to arrive very early for the show. This way, you can stroll in 30 minutes before the show and have guaranteed good seats. If you put in Fantasmic Dinner show in the search heading, there is a lot of info there.
