Tell me about Easter at the resorts!

Does anyone who's stayed at a resort for Easter festivities want to chime in and give me a first-hand scoop on what Disney's like at Easter? We're not so interested in going to the parks on Easter, but I'm very interested in the activities at the resorts. Do the Deluxe Resorts have more holiday activities planned than the moderates? Is it a full day of fun?

If you've stayed at various resorts for Easter, which was your favorite? Are they decorated? Does Mickey parade around dressed as the Easter Bunny?

Also, any dining recommendations for an Easter meal?

TIA! :goodvibes

Easter is one of the worst times to go to Disneyworld. Expect long, long waits for everything, near capacity or closed parks and iffy weather. It doesn't really answer your questions though :D.

The Grand Floridian has a display of GORGEOUS edible sugar and chocolate eggs all decorated. It's fantastic. They have been doing that for a couple of years now.

Also, the bakeries and eateries have lots of Easter themed treats like cookies, etc. Very cute.

Check with your resort and ask them for specific activities. They may also be able to tell you what other resorts that are doing things.

We have stayed at BC for the last 3 Easters, so I can't compare deluxe to moderate during Easter, but I can at least tell you about BC. They make a "candy scatter" out on the lawn area near volleyball net divided up into age groups. At a certain time (9:00 a.m.?) it begins and the kids can grab as much candy as they want. Also, there are plastic eggs with things inside and a few lucky winners of a bigger prize. There are stands set up with games. Easter Bunny visits too. A couple years ago, there were poolside activities themed about Easter.

This last Easter, Poly did "peep" roasts instead of marshmallow roasts at night.

Being that we are normally at BC for Easter, we plan our Easter meal right at an Epcot country. There are normally certain restaurants that may have some sort of Easter brunch, but we have not eaten at those.

I know you did not ask this question, but if you are in Disney for a few days and plan to hit any parks, the crowds may be heavier next year due to Easter being early. This year 2014, Easter was such a low time in Disney due to it being in later April and lack of discounts. We had a fabulous time, walked on every single ride except TT which broke down while we were in line. Too bad every Easter isn't during late April!

Thanks all! Sounds like it'd be a fine time for the kids! And Beach Club is actually the resort were leaning toward so perfect info for us! :)

Sorry to bump an older thread - but we are now going to WDW over Easter. Cannot pass up a week off of school and good airfare :thumbsup2

Anyway, anybody know if Pop or AKL does anything fun on Easter? We are still debating which of those two will be our home base for the week...

Thanks!!
