I think DS12.5 will love this
take bus from Pop to Downtown disney and walk over?
was this ever a park hopper choice? is there DVC discount?
is there a better day in the summer to go? wknd or wk day? Im reading go first thing in the morn (avoid late night)
What's your DSs favorites? are there any 2player games?

I can try to answer a couple of your questions.
Your 12 year old DS will probably enjoy DQ. It does get really crowded so it's a good idea to get there at opening. I have read that when it rains DQ gets really jammed. Take the Disney bus to Downtown Disney. I'm not sure which stop it is...I believe there are two stops. Ask the driver because if you get off at the wrong one it's a LONG walk.

You want the Pleasure Island bus stop - this will be the 2nd DTD stop as they always go to Marketplace first.

I believe that we do get a DVC discount. I think that is is 4 dollars???

a favorite activity for my DS in the 11-14 year range was to "close down" DQ--it was open till midnight, don't know if it still is. The crowds clear out substantially after 10 or so.

Otherwise, morning is the time to go.

We were there in the morning of 12/28/04. My 13 y.o. DS LOVES this and my 16 y.o. DD enjoys it too. Heck, mom and dad even had a great time with the "retro" video games and Buzz Lightyear's AstroBlaster! My son could LIVE in the Bill Nye roller coaster design area but riding those simulators makes me sick! We spent most of the day there and ate the Cheesecake Factory food and surfed the web while the kids played. We had to drag them out at about 3pm. Tickets were included in our UPH that were with our vacation package. I'm not sure how the ticketing is done now but you will love it!

we can surf the web while they play? woohoo a DIS fix!

Are you able to do things like access your e-mail while sufing the web there?

have they changed the web access?

When I was there I seem to recall it was in sort of little "coffee tables", the way they used to build in video games, and featured a cumbersom rollerball interface and dreadfully slow load times.

That was several year's ago, so they may have joined this century, or at least the last decade.

In order to check your email you need to have a web-based account like hotmail or yahoo or know how to access your POP3 based email through one of the browser-based services which offer it.

GoofyDad, I noticed on another board you mentioned hoping that the Cheesecake Factory at DisneyQuest was as good as one in Indiana. Well, I don't know what the one in Indiana is like but I have to tell you the the Cheesecake Factory in DisneyQuest is not the full restaurant. It's a counter service place. If that was your main reason for wanting to go then you are set but I didn't want you to think that it was the full menu. I've been to a couple of them and generally the meals are so yummy and large that we have to get the cheesecake "to go" anyway so maybe it's better that you cut to the chase.

I've never been to DQ (actually going for the first time this June :cool1: ), but here's a link to a photo gallery. Our plan is to hit Cyberspace Mtn. as soon as the doors open....we are all really looking forward to it!!!!

I actually could not get into my e-mail. It is a web based Outlook/Exchange account and I could not access it. Yes, as Erinch stated, it is a little awkward and slow but it was more fun for me than fighting the kids for the games. We went at opening and had a blast playing the "retro" video games on the fifth floor but those and Buzz Lightyear's AstroBlasters are really about all that excite me there. But give me Cheesecake Factory food and desserts and the Internet and I'm a happy camper! :cloud9:

The bubble has burst! Crud! I was hoping it was the real deal.

GoofyDad, just think, Cheesecake Factory is a chain which means that you can get in lots of locations. Just as well that now you can do a Disney restaurant which you won't be able to get elsewhere.

I use the same rationale for Rainforest Cafe. When people tell me they are thinking about going there I say, "No your not. If you want to go you can go to the one in Menlo Park Mall (half hour away. Ironically there is a Cheesecake Factory there as well), it's the same thing. Next..."

Holy cow GoofyDad! I just noticed that you have been a member since January and you have 865 post! Holy moo cow! Either there's a mistake there or you haven't seen/talked to your family in a number of weeks. :earboy2:

Actually I have been off work since Christmas due to a surgery I had on my right wrist. I have been on these boards constantly since then. :)

I broke my wrist when I was 17 (15 years ago) and the Doctor said it wasnt broken and that I was a little kid and he knew better. A year and a half later I went into the Air Force and they told me that I had a 1/4" break in my wrist. They let me stay because I had no trouble with it. Now I am having trouble so I had it worked on. They took a bone graft(sp?) out of my hip and put it into my wrist. All done. :) Now I should be back to work in a few days from now. :(

We have been to WDW 7 times and we are planning our first trip to DQ :cool1: Now that it comes as an extra with the MYW tickets I think it will get more crowded.

I know that my DH, and DDs will love this place but what about my DS(5). Is there anything for him to do there?? He loves pinball, bowling and places like Jillian's but I wonder if the virtual thing is appropriate for a 5 year old??

Anyone bring younger kids and what did they do???

Thanks
