Do all of the All Stars share the same bus to and from each park or does each all star resort get its own bus? We'll be going during peak season (week before Easter--no we can't change the dates, we are extending a school trip to include a family vacation). I'm trying to figure out the bus situation and wondering if we should do a split stay and book the family part of the trip at POFQ just for transportation.:confused3 How long would a typical wait for busses be at ASAMu during spring break? We loved staying at POP and POFQ because they have their own busses. Any advice? Thanks:goodvibes

There will be some sharing with the other All Star Resorts. It depends on time of day (non-peak times, more sharing) and the park (MK and Epcot less sharing than AK and DHS). ASMU is the middle of the three resorts, so if you are on shared bus you will have one stop at ASMo when departing to the parks and one stop at ASSp when coming back from the parks. There is only 1 stop at each resort, and the resorts are close together, so there is not much added time with the stops.

MK has separate buses to and from the 3 AS resorts all day. The other parks stop at all 3 AS resorts. HS will split MO from SP and MU at closing only. Epcot will split up all three after Illuminations

Busses run approximately every 20 minutes but most of the time it will be less.

Keep in mind that mornings to the parks may be slightly different

No experience with Spring Break, but we just returned from a stay this past week (8/9 to 8/17).

As PP's have said, there is a likelihood you will share buses if you don't use them at park opening or close. However, we did share a bus going to Animal Kingdom and we were at the bus stop about 10 minutes before park opening. We also shared buses returning from AK (at closing), DHS (after closing but not on a Fantasmic night) and Epcot (before Illumination). We had our own buses everytime to and from the MK. We also had our own bus to Epcot and returning from Epcot the night we stayed fro Illuminations.

We also had to share a bus to go to DTD or the waterparks. Catching a bus to and from the DTD from the AS Music was a nightmare. It took 45 minutes to an hour each way. Since all three resorts share the bus on the return trip and there is no queue at DTD, everyone just mobs the bus.

Also, don't count on getting your own seat even if you wait for the next bus as you never know if it's going to be shared or not.

I would think at Easter, they would run a lot of extra buses. We found that when we returned in the middle of the day that there were lots of empty buses just sitting there at the parks, or empty buses that would pass us up while we waited up to 20 minutes or more to return to the resort.

Also, I thought that POFQ sometimes shared with POR...I could be wrong though as it's been about 5 years since we stayed there.

Unless things have changed, I'm pretty sure POFQ shares busses with POR. While you may get lucky enough to get a direct bus (especially at park opening), you may end up sharing anyway.

The sharing between All Stars is no different than the sharing at other resorts (and between POFQ and POR). Since the street is used almost exclusively for the All Stars and they are so close together, it is more like having multiple stops at the same resort. Much better actually than the MK deluxes. It seems to take forever to get to all three MK deluxe resorts with all of the other traffic.

I wouldn't make a decision on resort based on bus service. They all tend to be about the same. You either get lucky and not have to wait and get a direct bus, or you may end up having to wait longer or make multiple stops.

Since you will be going during a busy time, the busses will mostly be standing room. If you think you'll have to stand, you can usually choose to wait for the next bus.

My last trip was unusually lucky at ASMu. We had cars, so only took busses to MK. Both times the bus was waiting at the stop at ASMu and we got right on to direct service to MK. Other trips, we've had to wait or make stops.

When we stayed at POFQ, we usually went direct, but not always.

When we stayed at POFQ last October we only shared with POR leaving AK, I guess I just thought it was always like that. We will not have a car and I realize that the busses will be standing room only--just wondering if anyone had experience with the All Star Resorts and could explain the busses to me. Thanks for the explanation Mickeep. :) Any other thoughts?

I've stayed at POFQ, POR and ASMo. The bus sharing at the All Stars is quicker than at POFQ/R. At the AllStars you could walk between the resorts faster than the time it takes the bus at POFQ to get to the next stop at POR. It is common at all of these resorts to have either shared busses or independant buses. It mainly has to do with the time of day and year that you are there. It's not a big deal at all. I can say that since I stressed over the bus sharing at POFQ/R and almost changed resorts. After staying there and experiencing it I would say that on average it probably adds about 10-15 minutes on to the ride.

At the AllStars the buses go from:
sports....music....movies

At POFQ:
the first stop is always POFQ....then POR main entrance....then around the resort(3 stops) and out.

At POFQ:
the first stop is always POFQ....then POR main entrance....then around the resort(3 stops) and out.

Just for the record only EP, HS and AK stop at FQ first before going on to RS.

The DTD buses stop at RS west first and FQ last and MK has separate buses all day that just go to either RS or FQ. The MK bus to RS stops at west first and the POR main entrance last.
