We have bounced around ( :Pinkbounc ) and changed our minds a few times now with where we want to stay. We are a family of 4 with 2 DDs, ages 15 and 10. We are about to make reservations at the CSR due to the Disney DVD we received in the mail.

So, tell me about it. The good, the bad (not) and the ugly (not).

Thanks! :flower:

i want to go to the CSR this summer, too ! Where can you order the Disney DVD? I'd love to get it !

We just got back from CSR on Sat. It was our first stay there and we absolutely loved it. It was very quiet and peaceful. I think this would be a great resort for a family with teens. Although, the arcade is pretty small. I don't know if that is important to your kids. The main pool was really cool though.

We loved CSR and so did my then 16 yo and 6yo. The Dig site was awesome and they would have been happy to hang out there all day instead of going to the parks. Put your walking shoes on though, it's a little spread out.

We just got back too. This was our 8th trip to CSR and we still love it just as much as our first time back in 1998.

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with 3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to the ranchos
High speed internet service
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
2 arcades

THE CONS
Full size beds
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.
Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests in suits. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty.

Not anymore. Tired, just hop on the NEW internal shuttle service which will bring you to any village at the resort. The main stop is out side the rear door of El Centro and you will see well place stops along the path around Lago Dorado. You can also flag down a golf cart. They have a yellow strobe light on top and a sign that reads "TRANSPORTATION FOR" on the front. This used to be only for convention guests but is not open to ALL guests. New perk at CSR!

I have to agree with everything Buzz stated. I visited the resort in the past but mainly to walk partially around and check things out and always thought it was beautiful but I'm not much for the Mexican room theme. I stayed there this past November and fell in love with it and will be staying there again in the future.

I know that people complain about how large the resort is but it is beautiful to walk around. Pool and hot tub area are a lot of fun and the slide is the best thing of all. Kids seemed to enjoy the play area as well. I also like where it is located as it is very close to 3 parks (AK, Epcot and MGM) and a brief ride to MK. I must admit that the rooms are very cute even with the various colors.

I personally was okay with the Pepper Market. It takes a slightly bit more time to understand the concept but you do have so many more food options than you would have at most other resorts and that to me is what makes this resort a great moderate option. Not to mention that there is a gym for those that like to work out (IMO walking the 5 miles a day in the parks is enough of a workout) and they also have the spa which on occasional will use. Lastly, I loved the fact that I did have a room service menu even though I didn't use it on that trip. I have on occasion called for room service in the past and just love to have that option available for those nights when you just want to collapse in the bed. Other mods don't have the gym, room service or spa facilities so this really edges this resort out above the others.

You'll have a great time there. Enjoy.

Personally, I get SO sick of people saying CSR is spread out. It isn't. And for the people who think it is, I would love to get their opinion on the WDW parks!

I totally agree. DH and I walked all the way around the lake several times while we were there (and we aren't really the walking type - we take transportation wherever possible). We thought it was just beautiful and not that much of a walk after the parks.
