I am trying to make money for our WDW trip next summer. Someone mentioned something about craigslist.org I looked it over and would like to know more. Does it cost money to list or sell things on there??

Maggie

There is no charge to sell on Craigslist. We have sold furniture on it before, as well as purchased several items. Hope that helps! :flower:

I LOVE craigslist!!! No charge, although selling stuff can be a pain. I'm trying to sell a headboard & several people have been interested but no sale yet. Kids stuff is super easy to sell though. Just depends on what it is but definitely worth a try!

Between Craig's list and our local sales and barter group listed on Yahoo groups. I made 89.50 in 4 days.

It can take time to sell but there are no fees or shipping so I love that part.

There is no shipping because the people pick the item up?? Is that how it works?

I have a NEW tuxedo I want to sell. I listed it twice on eBay with no luck. So I thought I would try something else. I thougth I might give craigslist a try.

Thanks,
Maggie

we recently bought a television off of it for our dorm with no problems.......worked out great

Just went over and looked at the site and yes, it seems to be that people pick up the item. There's listings for each city ,clicked onto Detroit even though we're almost 1 1/2 hours away, and saw listings from areas very close to me.

Actually seems like a pretty good site. Have a ton of stuff I've been wanting to sell, but the whole ebay thing kind of scared me off what with the shipping and listing fees, plus not having any feedback score. This seems much easier. Only thing that I had thought about was the actual exchanging of goods. Guess you'd have to meet at a public place and ask for cash or money order.

People have come to my home to pick up the items. I live in an apartment building. I do not let them in my house and keep my doors shut. I have not had any problems.

I love the no fee and no shipping.

I have used craigslist several times to sell things. Worked out great...no fees involved, no shipping. I don't like for people to come to my house, so I usually meet them somewhere convenient for both of us and I always state "cash only" in the listing.

I have a friend that has people come to her house...her reasoning is that if she was going to have a yard sale, her address would be listed in the paper so what's the difference? It just makes me uncomfortable, but I suppose if I was selling something really big, like furniture, then I guess I'd have no other choice than to let them come to the house.

I have noticed though, that some people on craigslist tend to be very harsh...for example, I have seen several posts by people ridiculing another person's listing like "are you kidding? $30 for that item? You can buy it cheaper at Marshall's" etc. I guess some people have nothing better to do with their time

I have not really read to much for sale on Craigs. I am trying to sell stuff not buy anything.

I have a few not show up but other than that it has been pretty good. I am happy to be making some $$ :cool1: and get the stuff out of my house.
