Tell me about Costco

I wish they had GF substitute products - like Udi's. They carry a lot of GF snack stuff, but I don't need snack stuff.

Don't they carry gf bread in the frozen section? I buy a lot of gf products but I don't eat gf bread so I've not made a point to find it there. But I am pretty sure there is a gf bread in the frozen section.

Mine doesn't. It is very possible that others might.

Since I became a stay at home mom and do my Costco shopping - actually almost all my shopping - without my husband, its gotten a lot cheaper. Yes, every aisle is gone down when he is with me [/]- and I'm like "check out produce, grab eggs, milk, half and half and out"

Costco's dirty little secret. They rearrange things everyday to get you to go up and down aisles. It encourages impulse buying.

Every store does (Walmart is notorious), but at my Costco, the eggs, milk, half and half and produce have remained within the same five feet of shelf for the four years we've belonged. So for me, I can run in and run out.

The dog food moves, it switches places with the paper goods. But since neither are impulse buys, it isn't a big deal.

I avoid the candy aisle, the homegoods stuff and the whole middle of the store unless I need something specific.

Those are the same places I avoid :thumbsup2 I am usually in there with 4 kids so it takes me awhile to get around but I stick to the same familiar territory.

I'm surprised your store doesn't have the gf bread. I know my friend's in CA has it cause she was the one who told me about it. And I'm in CO. I do know items vary by store though.

I hate their jug also. Milk is all over the counter/spills. I am surprised they have not changed it. I don't buy it often but did want to complain the last time. I actually said I was not going to buy it anymore.

I just bought a gallon this past weekend after saying I would never buy it again! I was being lazy and didn't want to make another stop on the way home. As soon as I poured it I regretted it. Milk all over the counter. No one in my family can pour it without spilling. It isn't just the kids. It seems like there must be some trick to it that we don't know about... It is cheaper than any of the grocery stores around here.

Seriously? I've never had a problem pouring Costco milk. Just hold your cup or bowl up close to the spout.

I love the shape of those jugs! They fit so much better in my fridge.

I've never tried the gallon, but I regularly buy the box that has 3 half gallons. It is organic and comes in 1% and some other varieties. The expiration is usually at least 6 weeks out. We don't use a lot of milk so it works well for us. It pours easily.

If you order anything online from BJ's you can NOT return it to the store. You must ship it back.

With Costco's you can return online purchases to any store. Just beware if you order something online from Costco and used a Visa or Master Card to purchase the item and return it to the store they will give you cash back rather than credit your credit card. Since the stores do not take Visa/MC their only choice is to give you cash back. We returned a $300 item we bought online and they handed us a wad of cash to carry around :scared1:

if you belong to MyPoints, you can get a Costco membership free with your points. That's what we did for our 2 wk trip to Maui this coming January. With 6=8 people to feed, we knew we'd save more shopping at costco, not to mention the gas savings.
