Not three hours ago I complained on here that I was the only one in my family who would want to go to a Character Meal. Well, turns out my sister said she'd go and if her boys can eat whatever they want then they'd go too. So now we have an ADR for breakfast at Chef Mickeys!
Can someone tell me what to expect there?

We've only done dinner at Chef Mickey's but I can tell you the atmosphere is great. The characters that we saw were: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, & Chip & Dale. Our dds loved Chef Mickey's and we've made it a tradition to go there on the night of arrival to kick our vacation into full gear. :thumbsup2

We love Chef Mickey's and did my son's birthday breakfast there on our last trip in July 05'. The characters were Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Chip & Dale. The previous post said Donald too but he isn't there (my DS's favorite & a little disappointed). The food is great- standard Disney breakfast buffet- mickey waffles, breakfast pizza also. You can also check out the menu on allearsnet.com. Enjoy!

Just to clarify, Donald is at CM for dinner but not breakfast. :)

Which is better to attend - Chef Mickey's breakfast or dinner?! I'm planning to go there for my 21st Birthday and would love a great character interaction experience!

I am a career firefighter with the Submarine Base Fire Department in Groton CT. I am here 21 years and loving everyday of it I originally lived in the Philly area and at the time I lived there the Philly FD had a hiring freeze so I looked anywhere I could get and this job came along.
I try to get to Baltimore for the fire expo to meet all my brothers from different parts of the country and hope to get there this year.

Yah, I just booked an ADR for dinner today! Now I am all excited.

Breakfast is my favorite meal at Chef Mickey's. I think the food is pretty decent, though lots of people think it sucks. Dinner, I'm kind of on-the-fence with. Don't care for the food so much and instead of the kids being all excited they are excited and crabby and I'd rather just deal with excited little ones than whiny and crying ones.

You can expect to have a gazillion excited (and loud) children buzzing about the place. Your kids may not eat a proper meal. Kind of like sounds only dogs can hear, there is something about the excitement in the air that is distracting to them while we're saying, "Eat your pancake. Mickey will be here in a minute. No, it isn't your turn yet. He'll be here in - yes, you can join the conga line. Go ahead."

Expect the characters to not spend too much time at your table. At Chef Mickey's, the characters tend to spend less time at each table than other places.

Oh, and when you check in, they kind of direct you to go stand by the plate and have your picture taken. Later, they come to your table with the pics and ask if you want to purchase them. If you don't want to do that, you can skip it. They kind of act like it is madatory, but it's not.
