I am looking forward to my trip to WDW this summer- it will be the first time in about 15 years!

Now I'm not rolling in cash, and I don't know that I'd even have the time, desire, or funds to go back to Disney within a short period of time, but I keep hearing folks mention Bounce Backs and I'd like to know more.

Obviously this is some sort of discount you get to return to the park within a certain timeframe, but can I get some more details? Is it a return within the same calendar year/ 6/ 12 month period? Is it for the same resort or same length of time? What kind of discounts to they offer? I wouldn't go back until '09 some time and I wouldn't go for a full week.

Does it matter that Mom booked the trip, but if I went back I'd book it for me and DH?

Many thanks!

I don't think the discounts right now are for 2009, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. There is a little pamphlet type thing (actually in the shape of a clock) and it has a list of dates that the bounceback is offered. You have to make the reservation before you check out on your current vacation. Many of the dates are filled, however, and only a few resorts are still open.

We have a bounceback offer for august, that was offered to us, on our trip in Nov /Dec 07. There was the "clock" flyer in the room and a promo on the tv, which gave info: I believe it was offered for sometime early like march 08, or april 08 or was it feb 08 and then it had tagged along aug 08. It starts in august on the 10th. Cause I check into poly on that rate it was like 30% off, very similar to most ap rates.

The sticker is that you have to actively call and book while still checked in. But be careful. We stayed in nov dec for like 18 nites and I called at the near end of our trip = the offer was being held and not offered at that time. But since we had not checked out and remained at the resort throughout our stay they still let me book it. There where many rules and restrictions with the one we did. Only certain resorts, you had a certain time period. etc..... .

We have our fingers crossed for march 09. from my trip in august. you never know.

Good luck, mky:cutie:

Were there bounce backs offered in Sept '07 for 2008? Were they specifically for the "free dining" period only, or were other times available to book as well? I'd love to book a bounce back offer for 2009 when we're there in Sept. (3 months from now).

We are on a 30% off bounceback for September, 2008 during free dining (which we booked in December, 2007). Since we are staying at the Poly for 9 days, the 30% bounceback saved us right at $1,000 versus free dining which would have only saved us $680. I too am hoping for another 30% off bounceback offer when we travel in September, 2008 for September, 2009.

I was very excited to see the bounce back "clock" on my table when I checked in. I brought it back with me (housekeeping cart had a big ol' stack of 'em) and I thought I might want to change the dates, which I was told is OK to do.

What is interesting is that there seems to be different information depending on which resort you are staying at. My clock was for 20% off select value, and 30% off select moderates and Wildnerness Cabins.

But when I called to book it was no problem to book a deluxe. I had hoped for the Poly (first choice) or Wildnerness Lodge (2nd choice) but settled for the Grand Floridian.

Certain blocks of time were on the clock with the latest available date 12/13/08.

Yes, there was a bounceback for free dining in 2007. It had to be booked while there and the last day was the end of Sept 2007. The last day for the first day of stay for 2008 was Sept 27. My daughter did book this and her first day of stay will be Sept 27, 2008. It's a little longer than the current offer out there now which the last first day of stay is Sept 20.

I was there in January and saw the clock and it looked like a good deal but my DH and I thought another trip in 2009 was impossible. Well, we were wrong and now I'm mad that I didn't entertain the thought more seriously while we were there. Are these discounts room only? My question is, i always book a package and was under the impression that I saved more money doing it that way. If I book room only, even at a discount would i still make up for it if I had to pay higher ticket prices?

So if you decide to book a room using the bounceback while you there, can you cancel it without penalties? Circumstances can always change - you just never know.

We got the FD bounce back offer when we were there in Sept.
and took it for this upcoming fall.
I think that if it is offered again I will put a depost down
even if I'm not sure if we can afford to go or not--next year.
From what I've read you can cancel before the 45 day mark
without losing your deposit. So, if things don't work out that's
what I will do.
While we were there not every guest at the Resort was offered
the Bounceback offer--because I got to talking to another
guest on the Bus (and they were also there for the Free Dining)
so it seemed hit and miss. Plus, there was no flier in my room.
I knew about the BB (from the Disboards) before I left and it was
offered to me whenever we 1st checked in.
The CM that checked me in said that she would put the BB offer
paper in with my other paperwork but whenever I got to the room
it was not in there. I went right back over to Registration and got the
paper with all the information, no problem.

We just stayed at POR and I booked a return trip with a bounceback discount for October. If I remember correctly the deal was 40% off deluxe villas, 30% off deluxe and moderate resorts and I can't remember the value discount - maybe 20%. Our POR room in October will be $115 a night. I want to say the dates started late August and went through December but some weeks were not included. I knew we wanted to come back in October so I had purchased 7 day no exp passes to cover both our short trips. This saved at least $400 for our family of five over buying 3 day and 4 day regular passes. I was hoping for the bounceback discount and was very happy to see that clock flyer in our room.

Ok, after typing all the above I copied the following from mousesavers.com:

I am taking this to mean it is "room only" and you cannot book the dining plan??

That makes sense to me too. The only time you have to pay a deposit equivalent to "one night's room" is when you book room only.:thumbsup2

You CAN book the dining plan with the current bounceback offer. However, the discount (20% or 30%) is just off the room portion of the package.

I just changed our dates from August to December for our bounceback offer we booked in January as we were able to book AP discount for this July.

The bounceback offer that has been most recently offered does not have any dates into 2009. The last available date to book is 12/13/08. When we booked our BB offer the beginning of May, there was very limited availability.

Yes, it is a room only reservation, requiring one nights deposit with tax. You can cancel up to 5 days prior to the check in date.

As long as you don't want the dining plan, a room only discount with tickets separate from a ticket broker can often be cheaper than a package for sure:)

So if you weren't looking to go again in 2008, you don't need to be mad at yourself. No BB offer yet for 2009:)

You booked the dining plan too - cool. So when you initially booked, did you pay $200 (like with most packages), or did you still pay the equivalent of one night's stay?

I thought I had read about people booking FD and BB last year for this coming September. Does this mean that you can use the BB for % off the room and get free dining? That would be sweet!

When I originally booked, when still at Disney, I booked room only, as I was told that was all I could book. I paid the one night deposit at that time. When I returned home, I called the bounceback phone number, they looked up my ressie and said it would not be a problem to add dining and tickets! At that time they refunded my one night deposit and I paid the traditional $200 package deposit.

You cannot combine discounts. So, either, free dining or bounceback room discount, but you can't do both. :( Sorry, but wouldn't that be a great discount! I think the bounceback offer from last September that was offered was for free dining.
