DH and I will be going on a free dining package this Nov. We are also hoping to plan a family trip next summer. I have read a few remarks about people going this year on a bounce-back offer. Can anyone share details? If we got an offer, would we be able to use it during the summer or is it only for fall travel?

At present the bounceback offered is a % off room only with dates only till the end of 2010.

The past 3-4 years or more, Disney has introduced a new bounceback when free dining starts in August of each year which would include FD for dates the following year. Example I went in late Sept last year during FD and the bounceback offer was FD for 8/15-9/30 2010. I believe this bounceback changed from FD to % off room only sometime in the Fall.

So, if Disney follows patterns from years past, the bounceback is likely to be a % off room only when you go in November. However, since you are there during FD, then maybe IF they offer FD as a bounceback for next year, you will be able to get that.

Of course it's hard to know what they will do this year, but last November 2009 the BB looked like this:

Get 20% off a Select Disney VALUE Resort: 1/3-1/14/2010, 1/18-2/11, 2/15-3/27, 4/11-7/1, 7/5-11/23, 11/28-12/24/2010

Get 35% off a Select Disney MODERATE Resort: 1/3-1/14, 1/18-2/11, 2/15-3/27, 4/11-7/1, 7/5-11/23, 11/28-12/24/2010

Get 40% off WILDERNESS CABINS: 1/3-1/14, 1/18-2/11, 2/15-3/27, 4/11-7/1, 7/5-11/23, 11/28-12/24/2010

Get 40% off a Select Disney DELUXE Resort: 1/3-1/14, 1/18-2/11, 2/15-3/27, 4/11-7/1, 7/5-11/23, 11/28-12/24/2010

Get 45% off a Select Disney DELUXE VILLA Resort: 1/3-1/14, 1/18-2/11, 2/15-3/27, 4/11-7/1, 7/5-9/30/2010 (Offer excludes 3 bedroom grand villas) * Note: another nice DISer added these dates for the Villas 8/15-11/23 and 11/28-12/16/2010)

You can see lots of dates were included on that one. IF they offer the same type of BB this year, the only problem you might have in booking a BB for a "family trip" is in how many rooms you will need. Since you can't book a BB res for someone who is not currently staying at a WDW resort (they do check their guest records), if you would need two rooms you might have to use your name on one res, and your spouse on the other. Or if more than 2 rooms, you might need to consider a villa, etc. Only mentioning so you can be thinking on what you would do in advance :goodvibes

Also note that if you don't see a BB flyer in your resort room, be sure and call extension 8844 from your room BEFORE check out to book a BB.
