Tell me about Animal Kingdom

Just decided to have my sons (2) birthday at animal kingdom. I am still just beginning my research but Amy advice would be great! I know that I want to do a table service lunch and add a cake. I'm reading conflicting information about if there is an afternoon parade and yak and yeti being a good viewing spot. How do I go about getting a cake or would it be better to tell the server it's his birthday and order a big dessert (10 people).

Can't give any advice about a cake as I'm a bit too new for that BUT I can tell you that AK no longer has a parade. They cancelled it a few months back due to the route being blocked by the Avatar construction.

I can't give you any advice on the cake either, but I would suggest Tusker House as a birthday meal. I'm sure that your son would enjoy the characters in their safari gear
Also, at AK the train (Wildlife Express Train) to Rafiki's Planet Watch is a lot of fun. There is actually a petting zoo when you get off the train. When my girls were younger they really had fun at this section of the park. Hope you have a great trip.
