Tell me about American Airlines and Logan

We are flying out of Logan in December( great rate! $99 round trip) and I've never flown out of Logan and Never flew on AA. So, anything that's great or bad about either? Thanks!

Be sure to leave lots of time to get to Logan. Then, once there, you will need to find a parking spot. This is always a huge time drain for us. I haven't flown AA out of Logan but I have flown JetBlue and Delta, before Delta moved over to Terminal A. Central parking can be a zoo. We have used the economy lots that are a ways away from the airport. There is a shuttle and it was easy to use, once we found the parking lots!!! It can be iffy if you are flying in the winter...would hate to return from sunny Florida and have to scrape my car...the lot is outside and not covered!!!

That's an awfully broad question. Is there anything specific you want to know? Logan is fairly easy to navigate; however, depending on the time your flight leaves you might want to allow extra driving time, or even come down the night before and stay over in a nearby hotel. Do a search for Park Stay Fly, or something like that, online. There's no great savings in money, but you can leave your car at the hotel for no additional charge and they'll shuttle you to and from the airport (or you could stay at the hotel at the airport).
All in all, Logan's pretty easy to get around - just maybe a little difficult to get TO. Another option you might consider is to drive to the Anderson Transportation Center in Woburn (well-marked on your way down 93, at least as you approach the exit) and use Logan Express to get to the airport. $11 per day to park, $20 per person round trip fare.

Logan can be smooth or can be painful depending on your departure time. Obviously, if your leaving on a weekday morning, save at least 2 hrs to be INSIDE the airport (not to have to find a parking spot too!) so if you get held up, you will still make your flight. The weekends are often a little slower paced as all the business travelers are gone....

Well, we are going to take Concord Trailways Bus from Concord down to Logan. I guess I'm just worried about getting lost in Logan...I've flown out of Manchester and Portsmouth (can't get lost there, lol). I'll have my dd with me and I was just worried about getting lost and not getting to the right terminal on time. But I guess from the sounds of it, I don't need to worry!
Our flight leaves at 2:05pm, so I just need to figure out the bus schedule from Concord.

I've also never flown on AA before...but i'm sure it will be ok.

tell me about it! It was shear luck that I came across that one! I told my Travel Agent about it and when she went to look it up for herself, it was no longer available!

You CAN'T get lost if somebody else is driving (well, okay, you can - but not if the ride is provided by an experienced and professional service like Concord Trailways).
The driver will ask which airline each passenger/party is going to, and will stop at all necessary terminals - once at A, twice at B (because there are actually two sides of this terminal), doesn't matter where or how often beyond that because you will be exiting the bus at Termina B, although I forget which side. You can actually use any doorway there to get to AA's check-in counter - there are signs hanging perpendicular to all the entrances so you can see them easily when you're on the sidewalk.

Their checkin and security checkpoint lines can get very long depending on the day/time. I would plan on being at Logan 1.5-2 hours prior to departure time. I'd rather sit at the aiport waiting for my plane then to risk missing the flight

Oh, and when you get back to Boston (yes, sorry, your trip does have to end some time and you do have to return to real life ), after you pick up your luggage just go outside. There'll be signs hanging over the sidewalk telling you approximately where to wait; or, again, just ask an airport employee for help

As far as AA goes, they are my personal favorites. I always seem to arrive on or before scheduled arrival, very helpful/friendly workers and (At DTW at least) they never have a line to check in!!!!

Logan is one of my favorite airports; it's easy to get around and everything is well marked. You will not get lost there.

I even found a parking space in Central Parking during the Massachusetts February school vacation period!

I could be biased, but AA is a personal favorite of mine. As is BOS. You'll have no problem at all! Enjoy your trip!

I don't particularly care for BOS myself, I find the people there to just be plain old surly... I even find myself to be surly while I am there... for cross country trips non-stop it's the only place to depart from locally though, BLECH...
