Until last year, it had been MANY years since I had flown. Last year, I flew AirTran, and really liked their Satellite radio.

I have recently booked a flight on Delta, and was wondering what, if any, type of services they offer, like the satellite radio? No biggie if the answer is "none"...I got a good fare, and that's what matters most. I was just curious, is all. :teeth:

They don't have any in-flight entertainment on shorter flights unless you are lucky enough to be on one of the old Song planes (757s) that have the TVs in the seatbacks.

If you are flying Delta out of RDU or GSO, and it is a direct flight, you'll probably be in a regional jet or an embraer, neither of which has much to offer in terms of entertainment--no screens, no radio, nothing much at all. They are comfortable planes.

I don't personally find the Embraer planes particularly comfortable - at least not the Continental ExpressJet Embraer's...

Don't expect a lot of amenities on Delta. Being in bankruptcy has a way of getting in the way of frills.

I fly Delta PIT/ATL pretty often in an MD-88, which is pretty comfortable, I always grab a seat on the side with 2 seats (it's 3/2). No entertainment. They do offer something that no other airline I've been on does - a choice of snacks. Chips, pretzels, peanuts, granola bar, biscoff cookies.

I'll be on a RDU-MCO flight later, so let me know how this trip is for you, if you don't mind

RJ's are definately not that comfortable if you are tall. I am 6'5 and I cannot stand up in the cabin or in the lavatory but hey any flight on Delta versus SW is a good flight.

While all baby jets are less comfortable than full size, I find the Continental Embraer RJs an order of magnitude more comfortable than the CRJs Delta uses.

Amenities? :rotfl2: Delta? :rotfl:

You get cattle car transportation that is hopefully on time and safe. Other than that, on DL you get a bag of peanuts and a bottle of water served 30 minutes later than you would hope, served by a flight attendant older than your grandmother with an attitude. :teeth: You wanted low price, right?

Ever hear about "getting what you pay for"?

You pay $300/day for a 450 sq ft room at the WDW hotel and get swell customer service. :thumbsup2 You pay $210 Round Trip for Delta to buy a $50 million dollar jet to fly you at 550 MPH seven miles high using 50 gallons of $2/gallon jet fuel to haul your butt and two suitcases to and from Orlando and you are NOT going to get the same level of pampered customer service on your jet ride.

Ummmm...yeah! I was just asking out of curiosity. In truth, I don't evenn care if they don't give me anything to eat, as I can bring my own food. I can also bring along my own music to listen to. Other than my AirTran flight last year (which, btw, was the same cost as my Delta flight), I haven't flown in well over 10 year, so it's been awhile.

How is Delta cattle car transportation?? Aren't the majority of the airlines fa's older than average? Attitude, wouldn't you be upset by having your pay cut and being treated poorly by the consumers who constantly demand demand demand expecting the world?

We just flew Delta for the 1st time (Buffalo to San Francisco) the end of April. The flights were on time both legs round-trip. All of our luggage was on the carousel. The flight attendants were very nice and the snacks were fine. Like another poster said they actually gave you a choice instead of just pretzels.

We've booked another flight on Delta for this summer...This time to WDW. :teeth:

Safely to our destination, decent fair, decent service, on-time flights, no lost luggage...... :cheer2: works for me!

We fly them all the time from BDL and LGa. Out of BDL its a breeze, you leave on time and usually you can get in early. You can bring your own food on board and the FA's are great. I don't agree with "served by a flight attendant older than your grandmother with an attitude", where that comes from I don't know. Like I said The FA's are friendly and helpful.

I agree that the FA's are taking everything with great stride. I sometimes wonder if they took lessons from the United FA's on how to stay great during tough times. United FA's have been rung through the ringer and still smile and are nothing less than professional. Waiver: every airline has employees that do not live up to company and consumer expectations but for Delta and United, those are rare.

No I think you are referring to American Airlines with the FA age and Southwest with the cattle call.

Delta gives you more than a bottle of water and peanuts depending on the link of the flight. Delta has Biscoff cookies which are SO good!

I do agree that the ERJs are more comfy on the "1" seat side than CRJs. The "2" seat side is about the same. If you need extra leg room then book the exit row.
