Hi,
I will be at the Peabody for the reading conference at the Orange Convention Center. It will be for 5 nights!
What is there to do there and close by? Any info on places to eat in the hotel and close by?
Would you recommend this hotel?
Also how far is the Peabody from the Boardwalk Inn? We will be at the Boardwalk for a few nights before moving to the Peabody. Directions anybody?
Thanks,
Byrd

We stayed at the Peabody for a night over Christmas. I piad $80 through hotwire and got a real deal! The hotel is beautiful. It was more business oriented then other hotels that I have stayed at in Orlando. The rooms are nice with great beds and down comforters. The bathrooms are big and even have small tv's in them. It has a large pool area with a bar. Be sure to see the duck parade that goes on every morning and evening. As for restaurants, there are tons along I Drive- many within walking distance. I am not from FL. so can't help with directions. You will enjoy this hotel!

Anybody????
How far is the Peabody from BWI, is it a bad drive?
Thanks,
Byrd

The BWI is pretty far from the Peabody. It's on I-4, about 2 miles away from Sea World. I think it'd probably be a 25 minute drive, give or take.

The Peabody is a great hotel. It is one of the most beautiful hotels and a beautiful lobby along with the Marriott World Center Hotel. There are plenty of restaurants that you can walk to from the Peabody which include Sizzlers, Bennigans, Houlihans, and tons of restaurants at Pointe Orlando. The Peabody is in the heart of Intl. Drive and you will be able to walk to any restaurant.

My husband and I stayed at the Peabody over Labor Day Weekend on a very (amazingly) cheap Expedia rate. We were going to take the kids, but one broken arm later, it became and adult's weekend away.

We thought the hotel was great. Our room was awesome and we splurged on room service eggs benedict that was one of the best meals I have ever had anywhere - never mind room service. On Monday we ate breakfast in the one restaurant that was open and it was atrocious - go figure. We spent quite a bit of time at the pool and hot tub, buying drinks. All lots of fun. Our only complaint about the room is that they used flat sheets on the bottom and they wouldn't stay on - a small inconvenience, but one you don't expect at such a deluxe hotel.

We drove down to Bahama Breeze for one meal, but I guess you could take the shuttle. It would be a long walk. The other night we ate at the California Grill. The drive over to Disney is no problem when you leave the three kids at home and you're not coming back to the room for swimming and naps.
