Updated the renewals list to show that NBC renewed:

The Marriage Ref
Minute To Win It
Who Do You Think You Are?

And to show that Fox cancelled Sons of Tucson.

Human Target is ending already? Love that show. What am I supposed to watch now? Hope it gets picked up for a new season.

There is hope for Human Target. While its ratings have been modest, its been a good pinch-hitter for the network.

I was wondering what is going on with Fox's Lie To Me. Did I miss a post about it?

It's there in the list of return dates:
Monday, June 7
...
Returns:
Lie To Me (Fox)
So figure they'll burn off the 12 remaining episodes over this summer. Do not expect the show to get another renewal though. Its ratings simply weren't good enough for that.

Just to be clear: Lie To Me will return before June 7, with some reruns of earlier episodes. June 7 is the date that the new episodes return.

Thank you! I must have been scrolling too fast.

Some interesting data released by Nielsen Media Research this week, showing that CW has the greatest percentage of viewers in the lucrative 18-49 demo, and by a big margin over Fox, which has a very healthy margin over ABC and NBC. The same data shows CBS having the lowest percentage of viewers in the 18-49 demo, and indeed, pretty far behind ABC and NBC.

Of course, advertisers don't pay based on percentage of viewers in the 18-49 demo, so a network with a larger overall audience can make up for a bad percentage, just like a network with a smaller audience can partially make up for that fact with a good percentage. So CW's primacy, above, doesn't really translate into success, because their absolute audience is so small. And CBS' inferiority in percentage of viewers in the 18-49 demo is more than made up for by their impressively large overall audience.

The big winner (no surprise) is Fox. They have a large audience, and great demographics. Even considering that they leave seven hours of prime time un-programmed (10PM-11PM, 7 days a week), they still beat CBS, all-told, though not by much.

Something that might surprise people is that ABC and NBC aren't as far behind CBS as some folks might suspect -- with average ratings of 2.8 and 2.7 as compared to CBS' 3.7 -- a significant difference, yes, but not in the 1.x's where I suspect a lot of ABC-bashers and NBC-bashers would think they'd be.

I assume that Into the Universe is a short series? It just looked funny that it premiers in three days and next week is the season finale already.

Two episodes. Yeah, pretty short. ;)

Is there any official news that Criminal Minds has been renewed for Season 6? I assume so, as Glee (formerly in the same time slot,) has moved to Tues, now and there is the Criminal Minds 2.0 spin-off series coming. All I can find are reports that it has been renewed, on other forums, and what I consider not reliable sources.

Also, is the season finale on May 26th? (Also found from a not reliable source.)

Nothing official on Criminal Minds, nor its possible spin-off.

This season's finale is May 26. The press release isn't out yet, but indications are that the info is official.

Thanks, I'll tell the peeps on our CM thread. :)

Less than four weeks before we know the definite answer. CBS' fall upfront presentation is Wednesday, May 19, so even if it isn't given an early pick-up, we'll know one way or another by then.
