Telescopes for kids

Does anyone have any good recommendations for telescopes for kids? I'd like to get DD(8) one for Christmas and having just begun the search, I am overwhelmed already. Thank you!

I know Zany Brainy carries a few different ones. Also Target carries a line of stuff from National Geographic (telescopes, microscopes etc) that you could check out. Another option would be the Discovery Store.
