I recall reading somwhere that for a certain fee (perhaps $2.50), you can arrange for a character to telephone/call your child at a certain time. Does anyone have any more information about this service?

How cool that would be for my daughter to get a call from Belle. She would be head over heels.

I don't know about a pay for a phone call - but on my birthday (I had a bday button on) a castmember at epcots turnstyle (we were leaving) handed me the phone and it was goofy saying happy birthday! perfect way to end my perfect birthday (much pixie dust was sprinkled on me this day - all because of the pin!)

I'm not sure this is the same thing but if you stay on site and request a wake-up call, it's a pre-taped message from Mickey, Donald etc..." Hey Pal, time to get up and start the day..." etc...
My kids loved guessing who it would be each morning.

This service does not exist and Disney wold certainy charge more than $2.50 for it.

Perhaps you are thinking about the wake up call that you can receive from Mickey or Goofy in the morning. It is random and you cannot choose who you want to call you.

Go to the disney princess site linked here and on the left side of the page near the bottom there is a link for getting a princess call. It's $2.49 and you select the princess and the time and date you want them to call. I would think its prerecorded. You select a "theme", holiday, birthday, good night, and I guess they call you.

Apparently it does and they don't ;)

Looks like a great service! Thanks for the link Bigal316!!

I knew Nickelodeon offered these calls for 2.49. Great to see that Disney does, too -- We're much more of a Disney family in this house...

bigal316 you are the best!

I knew this service was available for Sponge Bob and Dora through nickjr.com and thought it was available for a disney character as well. I have spent so much time looking on the internet that I should have known to come to DIS first!

Well you learn something new every day. Although it is limited to Princess'.

Is there a time limit on the "wake up" call by Mickey or Donald or whomever?? We're late sleepers, but My 5 yo would love this! Do you just ask at the front desk?

Thanks
Beth

I had Ariel call my dd for her bday and she was so excited. Really made her day. Definately worth that $2.50.

We did this the morning we left on our last trip to WDW. Cinderella called right at 7:30 a.m., and told my girls that today was a special day for them. Not knowing who it was, you should have seen the looks on their faces when they realized who was on the other end. It was a great way to get a Disney trip started...

Not sure what you mean by "time limit" but I've gotten the wake-up call every morning at WDW since I learned about it on these boards, about 8 trips ago. I've never slept later than 8:30, but I don't know that there's any limit to how late in the morning. I know the spiel by heart-"Up and at 'em, pal. Ooh, boy, are we glad you're here. Big doins' goin' on, so let's get started. See ya real soon [giggle]" Sometimes it takes several seconds after you answer the phone before Mickey starts talking. I've been so fanatical about this call that often I set my alarm to be wide awake to hear Mickey! Just call the "wake-up" on your phone (I think it's a button you push) the night before.

There is no time limit. Just call the operator and tell them you want a wake-up call. The fastest it can occur is 10 minutes after you hang up, but you can do it anytime.

There is no "time limit" - I've set the wake up call from 5:00PM to wake us from naps before. However, there is some limit as to how many minutes must pass before the wake up call. For example, you can't call and set the wake up call for two minutes later just to hear the message (I tried, wanted Dniece to hear the message while she was fully awake.)

We were having dinner at the Brown Derby on my birthday and the waiter brough over a phone and plugged it into the wall and handed it to me. I took it and it was Goofy wishing me a happy birthday. It really put a smile on my face.

MommytoPayton&Max - A couple of days ago I ordered one of the Mickey holiday calls for my step-daughter on Christmas day. I figure for $2.50, why not try and see how it goes. When I went through the registration process, you get to choose the date and time you want you phone call. My credit card did get charged right away and you can't cancel you phone call and get a refund, you can only re-schedule the phone call. I'll post how it goes after Christmas

They will e-mail you to remind of your phone call so that your child is available to take the call. There are several subjects to choose from for the Princess calls. We used it when we were heading for Disney and surprised the 5 year old. It's a cute message from Cinderella. She says something about how much she loves to travel and asks the child if she does too. Not bad for $2.50. For you newer readers, please do not confuse this Princess call request that is handled by ordering on the Internet, as opposed to the wake up calls you can request at the Disney hotels when staying on Disney property. This thread is talking about both and it's getting confusing :earseek:

Heidica, I would love to hear how the call goes, especially how timely it is and how much time you had after answering the phone for the actual call to start. Thanks!
