Has anyone done this? Is it laser or bleaching? Does it work? I am thinking of doing this when I cruise in August.....

Thanks!

I haven't heard of this on the cruise, but I can tell you that the laser whitening is typically $600 or more. Bleaching takes time and I think it would be hard to offer as a spa service. HTH

My friend had the Zoom bleaching done......OMG do her teeth glow!!!! :cool1: She is really tan also which make them shine even more. If I had the cash too have it done (she paid about $450.00) I would TOTALLY have it done!! Although my braces would have to come off first. :teeth:

It was offered by the Vista Spa during our April 30-May 7th Eastern Cruise. As per the Navagator ad " Teeth Whitening--FDA approved teeth whitening. No trays, no mess and visibly whiter teeth. $199"

I hope someone knows more about this! How can we find out? If I call DCL, would they know? Does anyone have the DCL number? Is there a number for the spa?
I was going to do the dolphin swim excursion, but would rather spend that $$$ on the teeth treatment if it's truly only $199, and do the dolphins next year at Discovery Cove.

Teeth whitening can cause extreme sensitivity. I would not want to worry about being miserable for the cruise. I tried the crest white strips and after a week my teeth throbbed for days. The dentist said some people have reactions. Even with the laser they give you heavy floride toothpaste for the month before to dull your dental nerves.

I did try emailing them at the address above, but I got a delivery failure notification....if anyone cruising soon can inquire about details, I would appreciate it!

Thanks

I tried the trays from the dentist--made my teeth WAY to sensitive, I had to quit using them.
I do like Crest Whitestrips & I feel the were effective. I only use them once a day instead of twice, and I don't have much sensitivity issues.
I say buy some Creststrips & get the dolphin excursion! Why risk dishing out $199 for a procedure that could cause you discomfort, and may be no more effective than $20 Creststrips!
Happy cruising!
Kristin
PS Remember--I'm the gal who gets a pedicure/manicure/hair cut & color at home before the trip because of the cost (and I don't like an unknown messing w/ my hair!) and massage at the beach for lots less than the ship! But I know a lot of you gals love the pampering experience, so go for it!

Gentle Touch Teeth Whitening

Flash that million dollar smile with this professional teeth whitening treatment.
Duration 60 min

Price $199

I got this off the DCL site. I know it doesn't tell you how good it works, but at least you know the price for sure.

I was going to try a professional whiting treatment.

However, I bought Colgates "Simply White." I've been using it for a while and everyone loves how white my teeth are. (I have a slight yellowing on my canines from being a past smoker). Within days, it helped my problem.

My DS9, tells me I have the whitest smile.

With a coupon, it cost me less than $8! :teeth:

I never heard before of a spa giving teeth treatments, but then that does'nt say much cause I live under a rock.

I don't know about the rest of you, but the only people I want touching my teeth are dentists or dental hygenists..just my opinion though.

I did this on the may repo cruise. It was $199.00. I sat in a chair in the salon. Vanessa put theses uv glasses on me and then a little device in my mouth to keep my lips from touching my teeth. If I remember correctly it was about six minutes each time of sitting still with the light aimed on my teeth. And she did this five times. She was very attentive and it was not at all uncomfortable. She also swabbed my lips with a moisturizer so they did not get chapped. My teeth were noticeably whiter and my whole family was impressed. What you are not told, however, is that in order to maintain this you have to put this solution on your teeth morning and night for two weeks. And you are not supposed to drink coffee or wine or have dark food for 24 hours. Then in order to maintain this whiteness you need to buy additional solution. She told me what would get me through to next year was three bottles but I only bought two; an additional $98.00. They saw me coming! But apparently, everybody's maintenance schedule is different and I had minimally stained teeth. My teeth were as white as anyone could get them. Vanessa also told me to throw out the crest strips because they erode the tooth enamel. If you want to enjoy the food and drink, I would recommend getting it done at the end of the cruise. Hope this helps. :flower:

Xangav,

Thanks for the info. I have this booked for the last day of my cruise and am glad to hear that you had a good experience. I was a little skeptical of getting results, but the price seemed reasonable. It's good to know that you were satisfied.

I had my teeth professionally whitened at a "dental spa" a few months ago - no trays ir strips, but something swabbed on my teeth and a hot light. I will say however (and someone already mentioned this), it made my teeth so extremely sensitive, it hurt to open my mount and let air in because the air hitting them hurt! The dentist told me this happens to some people, not everyone and it peaks in 24 hours. It was fine 24 hours later and after a few doses of Advil.

Hopefully you are one of those people who won't be at all sensitive. Maybe take some ibuprofin just before the procedure?

I had the ZOOM whitening (not on the cruise) and if you are thinking about it I would definately do it the last day. I was in a lot of pain for 1 day and couldn't eat berries, coffee, tea, soy sauce, etc. I did love the results, though. I just wouldn't do it early in the cruise because it will drive you nuts that you can't eat a lot of things.
