Teens Travelling Alone Using Magical Express

My nieces will be flying in on Southwest and staying with us at our Wilderness cabin. We would like to use Magical Express for them. Is this something that two teens (13, 15) can handle on their own? Is it pretty easy for them to get to the right areas to use Magical Express?

Has anyone else used Magical Express for their teens who are flying alone? What is your opinion of doing this. Would your teens do it again or did they find it confusing.

This is a touchy subject. It has been said that Magical Express refuses unaccompanied minors. So what ultimately happens could be unpredictable.

Having ridden subways and buses by myself since age 9, I would say that similarly aged persons who feel like doing it should try it. In your case I would suggest your being back at the resort lobby at the time the kids get to Orlanddo and would be about to board Magical Express and you advise them over the phone (do they have a cell phone?) in the event some problem occurs.

Your being right there at the "other end of the line" (transit wise and phone wise) will increase the chance that Disney won't let the kids down.

Punctuality is not needed going to Disney. So the kids don't have to worry about going the wrong way since there are more buses waiting when they eventually get to the Magical Express counter. It's not much different from finding each classroom on the first day of high school.

They should use the yellow baggage tags anyway if they wish to, ignoring the possibility that they may not be allowed to board the bus.

Would they allow me to take Magical Express from the resort to pick up my nieces at the airport, and then ride back to the resort with my nieces?

I would say that they would have no trouble figuring it out. You can ask anyone at the airport where the ME is located. I do not know however the rule about minors riding. I would just call ME and ask what arrangements can be made.
