All you universal experts. We are traveling with 2 teens 17 & 18. I cant find anything that they can do at night. The parks close early and all the clubs at citiwalk become over 18 & 21. Help!

When are you going? Will you have a car?

I ask these because there is a lot of activities on I-Drive that people flock to when the parks close early. Also, there is the Cineplex which always has a lot of movies available.

They can go to a movie, there is a great one in Citywalk. They can hang out at Citywalk and listen to whatever music is being played and browse in the shops. They can sit out by the pool and play volleyball or shuffleboard.

There is one club that has a dance for youngsters but I'll have to research it further.

They can go tour the other hotels and swim at their pools, too.

I was there with two teens recently. Most nights they were too tired after walking around all day to do much of anything. A couple of nights they went down to the pool/hot tub and one night they went to Citywalk and wandered around. The club that damo is referring to is The Groove. There is a teen dance there on some nights - but not when we were there! The schedule is on the Universal website under Citywalk, I think.

If there is any chance on renting a car, I would urge it. There are TONS of things to do on I-Drive at night.

Other than that, let me think...

I like the movie idea; it's a great theater!

They could walk around and visit some of the shops at CityWalk, not sure how much they'll enjoy this though. I would, but I'm not really a teenager anymore (sometimes I wish I was though, haha). :)

When are you going? There may be an event going on while you're there that you can all attend.

There may be some things to do at the hotel. The pool area usually has a lot of activity and things going on. The Luau at RPR is at night, but I'm not sure how a 17 and 18 year old would feel about it (might get bored, I dunno).

What do your teens like to do? What are they into?

Do they like wrestling? If so I would recommend going to a TNA taping (www.tnawrestling.com) if they have one scheduled during your stay. They usually film it on a Monday or Tuesday night, and then it gets shown that week (and sometimes the next week if they tape two shows) on Spike TV. They sometimes have live PPV shows there too on Sundays. It will last into the night and it's lots of fun (or, it will be if they like wrestling). My wife and I go down there a few times a year, spend the day at Universal/IOA, and then go to the tapings at night. You have to be there kinda early though, so it might cut into your plans for park activities (and it might suck to stand in line for an hour or more, watching everyone going on rides). Still, they usually last longer than the parks are open, so it would give you something to do at night. It's free to get in.

Can you tell us more about your teens and when you're going? Maybe if we know more info we can think of better ideas. :)

Great point!

I forgot all about their teen night. Here's a link to the page:

Looks like it's always on a different night (so not just like "every Tuesday is teen night"). But that page has a schedule on it.

I usually go to Universal with my family which includes my teenage brother (19), my step sister (19), and step brother (16)..and I'm 24. My step sister has gone to teen night at the Groove which she liked but it all depends on the kid, not everyone likes clubs. They can also go to the movies or go swimming at night until the pools close. Usually we ended up just walking around Citywalk or walking to the different resorts. I think someone else pointed out by night time, most people are tired, including teenagers. I wouldn't worry about them being too bored.

Thanks for the website. I never knew CW had a club for teens. Here's hoping that they have a teen nite at the Groove on one of the nights we are there over July 4th for our three 16 year olds. If not, there is plenty else to keep them busy during that time period since the parks are open later, the movie theater, CW, and the pool. Of course , that is assuming they have any energy left after park hopping in the Fl summer heat!

Hi. I have the same dilemma ~~ taking DS18 and his DGF as a 18th birthday/graduation gift for five nights 2/20-25 and wondering what they'll be able to do at night. Other relatives bought him gift certificates:

$25 to AMC theatres
2 tickets to Blue Man Group on Thursday the 21st

I'm thinking family/birthday dinner at Bubba Gumps Wednesday night (first night), BMG on Thursday, Mardi Gras on Saturday, leaves Friday or Sunday night for a movie and the other night to "hang". I just hope that for the $$ I'm shelling out, they don't say "Mom, I'm bored....."

Thanks PP for the tip on tnawresting and Groove teen night, unfortunately neither is a option during our time frame. I might let them take a cab to Wet N Wild for a day (but that doesn't solve the evening problem) or maybe to a local Mall. Looked into Petty Driving but this, as well as Downtown Disney (they would love DisneyQuest) are a fairly expensive taxi ride away. Maybe I'll consider a one-day rental for this, although I was really hoping to not leave the resort at all... I do not get bored sitting by the pool sipping foo foo drinks contemplating where my next meal will be:rotfl2:

Good luck. Actually, another idea might be the dive-in movies -- I wonder if all three resorts have them and all on different nights. The teens might like hanging out in the hottub with a virgin dacquiri watching a movie:)
