I read on previous posts I saw that you are given a check at the end of dinner, sign and put in the tip. My question is are teens old enough 19 and 15 to sign for themselves for a cs or a snack because I also have a small child that will slow them down and I am sure they are going to ask to meet up with us. We will have ALL of our TS together TIA.

I don't remember being given a slip to sign for CS or snack. Only TS. Always have them hold on to the receipt though because it will show how many TS, CS, and snacks are still left to be used and for you to verify that the CM didn't make a mistake.

The "key" will be for you to allow charging on their KTTW (key to the world) cards. Each of you will be provided one at check in. It is your room key, park ticket, DP charge card and if you allow it WDW charge card. You will have to allow your teens the ability to charge on the card. I'm not sur if you can allow DP charging, but not other charging. All of that can be handled at check in. We did not allow charging on the card for our 5yo, however his card did work for the room and as his park ticket.

At 19 and even at 15 your kids are able to roam Disney on their own and you should definitely encourage them to do so as their interests and those of the younger one won't quite match up. Its great that its a pair so they can be ride buddies.

FWIW - CMs will allow kids as young as 8yo to roam the park w/o an adult. Younger than that they'll consider them a lost child and take the necessary steps.

Well, a 19 year old is an adult, so of course they would be able to sign for whatever it was they needed.

My 16 year old dd has been going on her own in disney for about the last two years. She has never had a problem using the dining plan at any time.

I have read where many people will use their child's KTTW card to have the dining credits removed so "accidental" charges will not show up. Therefore, I'm led to believe that dining credits can still be used by those not given charging privileges. If anyone has personally experienced this, please chime in to verify that I am correct as this is only hearsay from quite a few people.

That is exactly what we did. His card was good as a room key and as his park ticket. No charging and no DP. For us it was unnecesary as he'd never be on his own. Also if the card is lost, no worries.

Oops my bad. I didn't word it right. Now that I go back and read what I wrote, it should have said that when dining out, parents will use their child's KTTW to "pay" for the meal with the dining credits. Since the child's KTTW has no room charging priv., they wouldn't have to worry about things accidentally getting charged to the room or the server using it to charge additional tip. Yours is the first post I have read where someone had the dining credits removed from the child's KTTW. I did not know that could be done. Nice to know though. So, I guess what we have learned is:
1. A child's KTTW can have DDP credits applied to the card but room charging not allowed OR
2. A child's KTTW can have ALL privileges (whether room charging or DDP) removed from their card

Well, if his card was good for DP we didn't know it, we never tried to use it that way. We said no charging and I assumed it meant both. His card actually has a message written on it that says something like: No charging written right on the face along with his name, etc. (my mother still has the card).

I never get charging privileges on any of our cards. Has nothing to do with Dining Plan credits.
And to the OP, there is no tipping at CS meals. My DS (15 at the time) would stay at the pool for several hrs in the afternoon to troll for girls (yikes!) and ate non-stop using his CS & snack credits at the food court - no problem.

You mean those girls ate non stop, your treat! :rotfl:
