teenage daughter

My teen age daughter has been acting like she is not excited about going on the cruise. Everytime I mention anything about going on the cruise or anything that I have found out on these boards she says mom please not stuff about the cruise.
Last night she was telling her boyfriend that she was going to start a part time job working for the same business that I work for. He ask her why she needed another job, and she said "I'm going on a cruise, 107 more days." I just about fell over. I have not been mentioning how many days it is so she has been keeping track on her own. We set sail Sept 10.
Now I am excited. :Pinkbounc
Hope you all can share in my excitement.

Went on the 4 day Wonder 4/24 and there were 60 of us. The kids were ages 4-15, and it seemed the older they were the better they liked the cruise.

We've sailed on the Magic 12 times...and number 13 is coming soon.

DD chose to celebrate her 13th birthday with a cruise, and has done another one since then.....and can't wait till the August repo cruise. In her opinion, the only thing better than 7 days on the Magic is 14 days on the Magic!!!!

The teens have a blast. Don't let the "attitude" fool you.

My teen DD is the same way, "no more talking about DCL, we are tired of listening to you any more info about the DCL" i thought maybe just maybe she is afraid DH & I are going to ditch her and hang out in the adult only areas, she is not one for trying to make friends, on the other hand DD 7 has no problem. :goodvibes i hope my teen is as excited as yours :flower:

wanted to say thanks to all that have replied to this thread.

I have an update, I came home from work the other day and my DD17, Ms I am not excited about this trip, had change my screen saver to the DCL screen saver. :confused3 She is secretly excited. I don't remember being like that when I was a teenager or have I forgotten.

I will be setting sail 2 months 3 weeks and 6 days.

My teen DS14 has the 'Tude' also. He's not interested in this cruise at all
except that he'll get to miss school that week and heard that they may be
adding wifi so that he can bring his new laptop.
I made him join a teen thread to meet other teens going on our cruise but
so far only 2 responses in the thread. I'm so hoping he'll get more excited
and that he meets more teens before we sail in November.

Oh, and make mine a margarita! :drinking1

My DD19 just rolls her eyes and laughs at me everytime I start talking about it. "Next you"ll start on your lists mom"
What do the older kids do? Are they allowed in the clubs if they aren't drinking age? She is the one I worry about cause she is too old for the kids clubs and too young for the adult clubs

Whoaaaaaaaa...where'd she find a DCL screensaver??? I want one, too!!!
:wave2: Linda

Momeska,

this child never ceases to amaze me, she said she just made it, used a font she found that looks like the Disney lettering, and made it. Didn't know she could do that. I will ask more questions and try and find out more and let you know.

Teenagers..don't ya just love them!!

Thank god for DCL, it's the only time my DD14 acts like a nice, well mannered, having fun kid and not a snob nose, bratty, spoiled, know-it-all (get the picture) teenager. She is sooo upset we are not going again this summer. But boy was she happy when she got a call out of the blue a few nights ago from one of the friends she met onboard! At least for 20 minutes afterwards she was pleasant and we liked her.

We do need a support group to get thru these years...
