Hi everyone. My DD is 15, and we're trying to find some "non-embarrassing" shoes for her for our trip to Disney. She thinks crocs are a huge fashion faux-paus (I agree, but I LOVE mine!), so we are trying to find something a little more fashionable, yet still comfortable for her. Any suggestions? :thanks:

Have her take 2 of her most comfy tennies...and switch them out every other day. At night she can wear sandals of her choice around the resort.

With this advice, she will surely Blend!!!

:rolleyes1 popcorn:: :rolleyes1

Well, i'm around your daughters age, and i agree with her! i am planning on just wearing flip-flops while there, but you have to make sure they're comforatble !!!!!

What about these? I have them in blue and also in khaki and they are SO comfortable. You can wear with or without socks and with an adjustable top and back you can make them fit tighter or looser depending on your preference. I got them a half size smaller than I ordinarily get.

They do carry them at bigger Sears stores in both the blue and the khaki. I plan on taking them with me to Arizona this week, including for hiking at the grand canyon. Wahoo!

Is your daughter aware of the "other" styles of Crocs? They have some really nice flip-flops and sandals...Good Luck!

I'm 19 and I have the Crocs Athens.
Even though I haven't been able to find them in my area, I love the Crocs Capri, especially the canvas ones. Check them out on crocs.com!

Last time I went to disney (when I was fifteen, imagine that!) I wore kangaROOs, which these are retro-style sneakers that were really popular in the 80's. they come in really cool colors and are really cute. plus, they have a little thinker sole than a lot of shoes do and they work great for bounding all over the pavement in disney. I don't know if your daughter likes that particular style, but I think they're super cute. You can find them at a shoe store like Journeys or on Zappos.com I believe

during the summer I live in my Teva flip-flops. I have been to disney a number of times and I wear them all day every day that I am down there and have never had a problem with my feet or getting off and on any of the rides.

If she is not comfortable in flip-flops, I know a number of people that love Keens.

I too agree with your daughter, because i'm just around her age. I have sneakers, but i'm scared to use them to Disney cause i don't know if they are good to walk that much. I think crocs look comfy, but for me they don't match with most of my clothes and it's a fashion oops! I don't blame anyone for wearing them because they're comfortable, but i just wouldn't wear em'. I don't know what tennis shoes or sneakers there is out there that are decent looking and i can walk alot in them. I'd love some help too! :goodvibes

I have to agree with the PP that said to check out the "other" crocs. There are some, the ones that I refer to as "Dress Crocs", that are adorable. So cute. I don't know the name, but that have a little strap across the toe and aren't as bulky as the regular crocs.

DD wore Teva flip flops when we went to Kings Dominion last summer and they were great, when we went to Disney a few years back she wore Wal-mart flip flops with the squishy stuff in the foot bed and she was fine. I think it depends on what you are comfy in, I plan on switching between my Teva's and Crocs in August... I don't think that I am going to take tennis shoes this trip.

I wear sandals every trip - whatever I buy for the year; make sure they are comfy for walking - definately break them in to prevent any excess rubbing on her feet before the trip! Sneakers are never packed - don't own any.

I hate Crocs! (FYI I'm 20) I always wear flip flops at Disney, and that has always been comfortable for me. Just a couple of tips tho, it's best to get flip flops that are not a suedy-like material (they will chaff your toes if it rains-ow!) and make sure they have arch-support and are not completely flat like some you see nowadays. Those are harder to keep on your feet when walking around all day.
