Teen has fatal accident on trip to Disney

This poor kid! His life is potentially ruined. And two parents have lost their children (they were a blended family). Just a tragedy. The ER nurse in me felt even more upset when I read about those killed not wearing seatbelts.

I can't even begin to imagine what that young man is going to have to try and deal with for the rest of his life.

Unfortunately many people seem to think that driving overnight is a great way to get to WDW and save a little cash by not getting a hotel on the way. If you ever post on the Transportation Board, that subject comes up fairly frequently. Makes me cringe every time someone posts that they are perfectly fine to drive overnight, especially when they are going to be the only driver awake.

So sad.

Driving during the night was pretty much how we always did our trip growing up. My dad is a truck driver so he was already use to staying up all night driving. However, when I first got my license, my parents didn't let me drive for more than an hour at a time and never at night.

i also agree the thread title was a poor choice of words. It makes it sound like the kid murdered his family on purpose.

Please change the title. That poor teen is going to have to suffer so much. He has been charged in the accident, but that is pretty much standard procedure. The parents made some very poor choices that not only cost them precious lives, but will result is life lasting trauma for this child. Prayers for them all.

What a horrible title you chose!! :(

I actually thought OP was talking about another incident that may have happened rather than the accident that previously made a few other threads. I agree please change the title :faint: If you do not know how go to edit and then Go Advanced.

So horribly sad that he will have to live with this the rest of his life through no fault of his own :( I just don't understand why those babies weren't in car seats, let alone buckled in. Such a preventable tragedy.

Good lord, PLEASE change your title. I think most people were aware of this yesterday when the topic came up, your title is making this seem like a different incident where the boy may have had malicious intent.

Thanks, I did not know how to edit, but it looks like an admin was able to do it. I feel horribly for everyone involved. How terribly tragic and I certainly do not blame the driver.

The family, friends, and all the responders will certainly be in many thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry, I did not mean anything by it. It has been changed, which I saw and was glad. Please just pray for them.

All's fine!! ;) Sometimes we just type things and don't really 'see' how they look! This situation just breaks my heart. The driver's sibling was killed and the other one in serious condition (biological) - almost too much for a young mind to bear - hope he has a good relationship with his uncle (dd's bro.)
