Technical Questions Re: Posting Photos

What's the trick to posting photos? I just tried posting one in another thread, it's at Shutterfly but it's not showing up even though I put the URL in the box like it asks. Where do you host your pics (for free)? We are heading down in a couple of weeks and I'd like to do a trip report when we are back. Won't have the time to fool with the technical stuff then. Thanks.

I use Photobucket too, and learned how top post pics from the sticky that contain(ed?)(s?) a tutorial.
