technical difficulties

We got stuck on Ellen's Energy Ride (Names may not be Official Names) at Epcot when my DS was around 3 or 4 in the Brontosaurus room with the Huge Butterflies. He thought it was great. We had to walk out after 10 or 15 minutes and he acted like he was on a safari. The CM came by and told us we could take as many pictures as we wanted. We got some great shots of the place when they brought the lights up. Really changes the perspective.

we went to WDW last week our first day there we got stuck at the top of Spaceship Earth. We were stuck in our car for a good 15 minutes-my DD 7 was terrified and ended up having an "accident". The CM's finally came to let us off and we had to walk down 18 flights of stairs. The next day we went to MK and got stuck on Tomorrowland Transit Authority in the middle of Space MOuntain! We were stuck there for about 10 minutes. The ride finally started moving only to get stuck again a few minutes later. About 10 minutes later we were asssited out of cars and had to walk out and down out of that ride also. the CM's at least gave us a ticket to use on any ride for no wait. The same day we saw Splash Mountain stuck. We spent the next 2 days trying to convince my DD's (both 7) we wouldn't get stuck again. any one else have any problems?
ok, what do you look like and when is your next trip? This way we can avoid you!!! :lmao: Just kidding. Test Track breaks down everytime we are on it! Oh, and BTMRR too.(By the by we are a red head and a blond about 5' 8" and as you can see by my tickers you know when our trips are! :thumbsup2 )

We were at DL last summer about to get on a ride , the name escapes me now, when they had to close the ride due to technical difficulties , as nice way of saying someone got sick on the ride. Now when ever we go and a ride is down we look for the person who looks sick :rotfl2: :rotfl:  :Pinkbounc

We also got stuck on Spaceship Earth about 5 years ago. That is the one and only time that has ever happened to us.

Everytime we go (which is every year) and we get on Spaceship Earth, it ALWAYS breaks down on us. We never had to walk off, but it would stop for 30 min. then move about 4 feet then stop again! When it breaks we hear people go 'awww!' then when it starts to move again people start to cheer! :rotfl: We always get stuck in the burning part

my mom and I were at the world for Easter Week and got stuck a few times...worst being Splash Mountain right before 'Drop 2'....we had 2 younger kids and 3 other adults in the log with us...

We rode towards DRop 2 as the lights suddenly went on.
The kids(around 8 yrs. old riding by themselves) behaved so good, but a women kept trying to get out of the log as we were standing very close to an exit. I kept telling her to sit down and the CMs made lots of announcements, but after 15 mins she had enough and climbed out..
I was very glad, that the CMs switched of the music after a while, because the buzzing bees were kinda annoying after 10 min.

It took 30 mins. to get everything fixed, a CM came up to us twice and told us to stay seated and that everything would be moving again soon.

When we were done riding, a CM handed us 2 'front of the line' tickets and we decided, to just ride Splash Mountain again.

We also got 'stopped' in Spaceship, but after reading this thread it just confirmed, what I was thinking, which is that a wheelchair user was being transferred onto the ride.

Test Track and Universe of Energy seem to be the most "breakdown-prone" for us, although we've never actually gotten stuck and had to walk out of a ride yet. The longest we were on a ride that "stopped" was on Kilimanjaro Safaris, where we couldn't move because of a white pelican that refused to move out o fthe way of a safari truck further up the path. We were stopped for about 25-30 minutes while they got an animal handler to come out and coax it out of the way. :)

I would say that alot of the "breakdowns" on continuous moving rides are due to the loading and/or unloading of someone in a wheelchair. I always wonder(not out loud, then it will happen to me several times over  )why so many people have had bad luck with ride breakdowns. We've NEVER had a breakdown on TT, nor have we ever been turned away because it was closed for technical problems. The only times we've ever been stopped were on SE and I'm sure most have been due to the wheelchair factor. Last October DD and I did get stopped on HM for what seemed like an eternity. I love this ride otherwise, but when you're just sitting there staring at all the creepy stuff in the dark it begins to wear on you. I was getting really creeped out and ready to walk out myself :)

Last June SE was closed for most of one afternoon because it kept breaking down. We rode it that night and everything was fine. Two years ago at Disneyland we were on Pinnochio (sp?) when it broke down. We were stuck right next to Monstro the whale. My kids thought the whole thing was cool and talk about it all the time.

BTMRR broke down for us. We were just heading up the 'falling rocks' area when it happened. Have some great shots of those in back of us. We got to walk out, but were told no picture taking was allowed. We actually came out by the 'bat cave'. It was pretty cool. Now, if I had been in a car with a bunch of young football players (around 12-13 y/o) and it stopped at the top of that one high hill, well, I'm not sure I would feel the same way. Between the obnoxious behavior of the boys in addition to having to walk down that hill...yikes!!!
