Hi everyone,

My sister and I have a trip planned for January. (5 weeks today! Woohoo!!!! :jumping1:)
She's just 16. Lucky girl...

The reservation and payment is all under my name.
I know we each get MBs, but are they all pooled under both our names?
In other words, theoretically could I use up all of both our DDP credits just through my MB and vice versa?
Or do I get a certain amount of credits and she gets her own?

If she stays in the room and I go down to the food court and purchase two meals- one for me and one for her, and charge them both on my MB, will she later have to "return one" because she'll have an extra credit and I'll be missing one?

I hope I'm clear enough popcorn::
Thanks!!

dining plan credits are pooled to each room.
you can indeed go down to the food court and purchase two meals.
they will not question you and they will not make you "return" one of the credits.

btw make sure that you are saying that you want to use dining plan credits and not that you want to charge it to your magic band because that is a completely different thing.

if you say you want to charge it to your magic band they will assume that you mean you want to use your magic band to charge it to your room which has a credit card attached to it.

They're pooled to each room, so in theory she wouldn't ever need her MB to order food?
(And BTW, when I said she would have to "return" one, I meant to me, because I'd be missing one :D)
Thanks for your help!

yes in theory (and in practice) she would never need to use her magic band for food.

i'm visually impaired so its hard for me to put in the PIN so i always have my sister purchase my food for me and we never have a problem.
they only need one magic band per room to use dining plan credits.

Great! Thank you so much! :-)

If you both aren't huge eaters, then share meals! I did this my last trip and it worked out very well. We would share a meal at the resort food court and then each choose a side or dessert (each CS lunch or dinner comes with a drink and dessert--each of which can be substituted, so you could substitute the drink for a second dessert, or the dessert for a side, etc). Since you get the refillable mug with your dining plan, you don't need a drink at the resort. We found that the meals were very filling when we split them and we were always happy that we could each choose a side or dessert! Everyone happy, and it gave us more meals to share--we generally had plenty of meals to share for the entire trip (and were able to have breakfast every day if we wanted--although breakfast only includes one side or dessert--so we would get a pastry to split). For table service meals, you can split them if they are menu items, but not buffets (so you could book more TS meals if you wanted to). We had 6 days of DDP and had enough food for 7 days (we ate on arrival day and departure day) and still had some leftover snack credits!

Enjoy!

Thanks, Ladyfish! :-)
We're actually both big eaters but we'll definitely be splitting some meals just so we can try as many different things as possible!
When I was there two years ago we also ended up with extra credits at the end of our stay and used them for snacks to take with us on the plane :D

I think I may already know the answer based on responses here but I was wondering if there is anyway to track who has used what credits? I am staying at CBB in September next year with my parents and my sister (yes I know, its going to be a squeeze!). My sister and I are both adults and thus will be paying our own way during our trip. Are you able to add more than one card to your accord to charge purchases too and keep track of our spending individually? Or alternatively are you able to see who used the band to charge the card each time so that we can split the bill at the end of the trip?
We also have the quick service dining plan and wondered the same... if my sister did not use her snack credits for example but the rest of us are big eaters, would we be able to tell which of us has outstanding snack credits (i.e who has redeemed each time)?
Many thanks!

I know for the dining plans, there is no way to differentiate. They are tied to the room. So you'll have to keep up with it yourselves.

I have a feeling the same is true for the charging at the parks using the MBs, but I don't know that for sure.

This is a very old thread, so you may not get much help. You would be better served starting a new thread with your questions.

Thanks I will do :)

When you charge to the room from your Magic Band it should say who the charge came from. You can put a different card on file for each MB but that system is not 100% flawless. At the end of your trip you can stop by the front desk and get an itemized receipt. IT is best to do it the last night before they charge it all but if they have already charged you can reverse the charge or you can see what someone owes you.
