How can I find out if it's my router that needs replacing or my wireless card. The connection stopped working so I'm hooked directly to the DSL now, but I really need to go wireless again.

Thanks for any help!

Do you have another computer? What kind of adapter (pcmcia or usb) is the wireless adapter?

Hey Chick.

How ya' been?

If the wireless card is in a laptop, which I assume it is, I would take the laptop to a place with free wireless connectivity such as a coffee shop or similar establishment.

If you can get online there, it is the router. If not, it is probably the card.

:lmao: :lmao: You always did know how to make me laugh. I live in a town with 4,000 people. We are lucky to have Internet here - so no, there are no coffee shops and definitely not any with wireless service. :teeth: How are you, by the way?

ktulu, I have a PC and also a laptop that was never configured for the DSL (it was once hooked up to the network, but back when I had cable...I haven't had any luck switching it over). I'm using PCMCIA.

Like MG said, I figure if I can get the laptop up and running then I'll know it's the PC's card. And if I can't, then it's the router. But the guy on the phone (help person at DLink) was zero help.

Thanks for any assistance!

Hmm. Hard to say then.

Everything that springs to mind to try and troubleshoot the situation will only tell us that you have a connectivity problem, not on which side it is occurring.

Do you happen to have any neighbors that are advanced enough to use wireless as well? :teeth:

By the way I am fine. Just killing time til our next trip in September.
