So tonight, my DD8 comes downstairs after getting ready for her swimming lesson and proceeds to burst into tears and tell me she misses America and Disney.

I felt like crying too.

Too cute ! When dd19 and I miss disney we watch videos on youtube.

We like to watch the people mover and monorail loop. Also if you stay at disney resorts watching Stacey is good too:cloud9:

ChelleFeegan, you have my sympathy. This is the problem of distance.

My DD (15) and I are constantly 'homesick' and wish we were back in the US at Disney. We pop in the Disney Park Music, look at our photos, and generally irritate my hubby. :rotfl:

Aw!

I feel her pain. I dislike where I live (NJ) for a lot of reasons. Not sure I would want to live in Orlando, but I would love to live in Florida near the coast. Then we wouldn't have winter anymore and it would be easier and cheaper to get to Orlando. Southern California would do too.

To keep the Disney magic alive, have you considered having your daughter write (or draw a picture) to her favorite character at WDW? It is my understanding that she will receive a card in the post from a character in 6 weeks or so after her letter is received at WDW.

I know that is not the same as being there - but a nice piece of pixie dust all the same. I believe the address is:

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
P.O. Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040

FWIW, my son and I are still in mourning that we weren't allowed to simply stay in England and Ireland after our trip in June. We miss it THAT much. The food is actual food, the people are lovely, the history is, well, actual history...

I saw a previous post of yours talking about Gatwick, so I wonder if you're in England. Shall we switch? Sure, we're in Washington State we're not very very close to Disney, but I bet it's less expensive than your current flights. :)

But I've always been an expatriot-in-waiting...it was the decision of a few generations back to leave our homeland areas; it sure wasn't mine!

Awww, sometimes I feel like that too! Usually the only cure is planning the next trip! :)

Happy to swap anytime, we are looking at relocating but to VA in a few years
