My family (husband and four-year-old daughter) and I are going to be going to one of the water parks this summer. We are still trying to decide which one. My husband is leaning towards Typhoon Lagoon because none of us has ever been there. I have been to Blizzard Beach and loved it, but my husband likes the idea of exploring TL together. Anyway, I was wondering how Teamboat Springs and Gangplank Falls compare. Are they pretty much the same ride but with different surroundings? Are they actually really different? Do you prefer one over the other? Why?

Thanks!

I just remember we all thought the one at TL was very boring and not worth any wait in line. Think we liked the one at BB - it seemed longer if I remember correctly.

Only thing to remember is Teamboat Springs (BB) has to have 3-4 people so if you are less you will be placed with others.

It would be the three of us (husband, daughter, and myself). Do you think that they would put someone else with us to make it 4, if there is a single rider?

Not that you asked...LOL...but I feel BB has way more for kids, and just more "rides" overall. DD likes TL best (for the waves), but DH, DS (who lost his trunks to his first wave at TL hahahahha), and I all prefer BB. And we all agree that Teamboat is WAY better than Gangplank. We rotate each time we go, so BB is next--woohoo!

One more vote for Teamboat Springs!! :thumbsup2 Also, agree with PP that said that BB has more for little kids. :)

Teamboat Springs is much better than Gangplank Falls. However the wave pool at Typhoon is much better!

TS here as well. Best ride of all at both parks IMHO. Plus as a plus stated. BB is better geared for kids that are smaller.... TL is just ok.:confused3

Probably go with the crowd here. TS is far superior to GF...As a family we prefer TL to BB, we like the lazy river, crush n gusher, sharks, and wave pool better, but BB is great for the little kids.

I just asked a similar question a few days ago regarding BB vs TL for my young boys (ages 4 and 6). The consensus seemed to be -- as in this thread -- that BB is better for that age group.

It seems like TL is better once kids get to be 48" and are strong enough swimmers to fully enjoy the wave pool and shark pool snorking. TL does seem to have some mid-range slides that could be good for the younger set.

I went to Disney for the first time recently and I enjoyed TL more than BB. BB had too many steps and I'm in good shape and workout regularly. However, more steps made for longer slides. Can't speak for the kid section since it was just myself and my husband. Our favorite was the crush n gusher at TL. The park had a more relaxing feel as well. I don't think you can go wrong with either though. I definitely liked both, but preferred TL.
