Good Morning Fockers! :goodvibes

Lucky here! :lmao: I'm off to a Girl Scout Cookie Kick-off today. Oh joy. I'll try to check in later or tonight too see who's around. :teeth:

Have a good day! No hangovers! ;)

Hi Lucky  Have fun. My girlfriend is doing the cookie thing with her daughter today too. It's 14 here...Glad Jimmy's not a girl scout:lmao:

The co-op seems like a nice option. The one here in our community is great. The children work with the parents at home most of the time and meet once or twice a week for those subjects the parent can't do at home. They also do a lot of social activities together. Because we all know those poor home school children have no friends, go no place, and are locked in the house sitting at the table doing work all the time :rotfl2:. Seriously if I was able to this is how I would have went with Nana.

Hey! :snooty: We keep busy with our farming and milking the cows! Not to mention making overalls for the whole family! :lmao:

I know... I hear you. See my next post, though. :guilty:

And don't you make B take care of all the young 'uns too, so when she turns 16 and you marry her off she is prepared for life:rolleyes: :lmao:

So it is Girl Scout cookie time? I was planning on going shopping in the States tomorrow, hopefully I will run into some of the girls selling cookies at the mall or the grocery store. I love me some Tagalongs!

That seems pretty reasonable. Are yo concerned that you aren't proficient in the subjects that she needs to be taking at this level?
Well, with Baylie I'll need to refresh and re-learn several things, like algebra. I don't know if I want to do that. I also would spend a lot of time with Baylie doing this stuff when I have two more kids who really need me. :guilty:

Also, I didn't take classes like Chemistry, Calculus... and I don't want to learn that stuff, you know?

IT's not quitting missy...it's doing what is best for your kids!:thumbsup2 :grouphug:
I don't know that it's BEST for them, but I certainly don't think it will hurt them, either. And, I will have less stress with everything being planned by the school. Am I willing to do the curriculum they chose, though rather than what I want to do? :confused3
I like the curriculum they chose for older grades, so I don't have a problem with that at all.

Ack! :crazy2:

If you decide to go this route, if you run into problems yo know Jim will helo you with the Math stuff!:thumbsup2

Ack! :crazy2: [/COLOR]

I think you and K really need to sit down and discuss all the pros and cons of each option and make a decision that way!

I have to run some errands before I take B to dance, so I'll be back to chat laters. :grouphug:

It's reasonable because it's a parent co-op. I would have to teach a class worth 8 points to get that rate. The thing is, C and A could both go for the same points I earn for B's classes (because they are the same hours) and $235 a semester but I don't know if I'm ready to do that. :guilty:

I feel like if I do full classes, I'm quitting as a homeschool teacher. I know I'd still teach them and help them with their "homework" on T/Th, but it feels like I'm giving up. With B, I feel like it's the best thing for her at the stage she's at. With A, I could use the break and he could use the structure and discipline of someone else teaching him. So, I don't know...

It would be so great to be done teaching at 11 M/W, then have a few hours to get groceries and run errands. It really seems like the best of both worlds. Less stress, but still lots of time with them to be involved int heir education. Why do I feel so bummed, then?

It is not giving up but it is a big change and change, good or bad, is tough and leaves us with conflicting emotions. You have loved home schooling and it will be hard to go to something else. I deal with this now that I am working out side the home. Even though Bug can be with me while I am working at his school it is not the same and is hard at times. It has brought a lot of good also. I have a great drawing on my fridge of me and one of the after school kids. She even drew me thiner than I am :rotfl2:. I have found out that I like to work with older children as well as preschoolers. Still it is a big change. The great thing about changes are they can be changed. What ever you decide to do can be changed if it is not what works for you and your children.

All I can add is that drinking and calculus don't mix 'cause you shouldn't drink and derive. :rotfl2:

Dawn, I'm right there with you. It can be very frightening to face the higher grade levels and to know that if they were in a traditional school setting they would be getting things we can't possibly offer (advanced labs for science is a biggie for me). We go back and forth between private school, dual credit at the local community college, and moving to be in a better district. And honestly, relinquishing the time is hard, but when #1 son got his full curriculum in a box this past year, I was amazed at my sense of relief. Spreading yourself out between 3 isn't easy and the "Momma, can you help me?" always seems to happen at once.

People here speak highly of the co-ops. I don't use them for various reasons, the most of which is that my accountability association requires that I teach 51% of his classes.

PM me any time you need or want to talk.

:grouphug:

SOmetimes thats more fun than buying...notice I said sometimes;)

Yeah, hopefully I won't end up spending too much money! :rotfl: We are only going to Watertown though which has a pretty small mall so not too much danger. If I was going to Syracuse then that would be a whole other matter. :lmao:
