Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Ok I need some dinner ideas. We have been hosting 2 other couples every other Sunday for True Blood nights and we are planning on continuing it after its over.....so i dont wanna run out of ideas.

What can i cook???

I have already done a pasta bake. They tend to make chicken dishes at their houses so i am avoiding that. This week I'm making an enchilada lasagna.

Thanks in advance!

Janet, good question re: where to go in the SW... we don't know yet, lol! Grand Canyon is a must, and I'd really like to go to Arches Nat'l. Park. Beyond that, I'm open to suggestions. I fear if left to me, it'll be 2 weeks of photographing rocks in various light. We'll likely - GULP! - road trip it. Yes, from FL to the SW and back. With Leo and Gramma. In one car. :scared1: :rotfl:

How about Tombstone, Boothill. etc...Leo would probably love that.

We are planning a road trip for next summer. Possibly end of July-ish. We are thinking of heading north then west.

We are going to do a cross state vacation next year. I am going to take 2 weeks and we are just going to drive around our state and see all the different things here that we have never seen. Should be fun!

Hey, guys. I've been reading but not posting - just too crazy.

:faint: I'll say. We miss you:hug:

My daughter gave me tickets to the Phillies and told me they are for today. She can't read they are for tomorrow afternoon. It makes it a little easier as Jim will be able to go now, but it is going to feel like 110 outside and probably hotter there with all of the people. I will be taking GIANT bottles of water and Gatorade. I had heat exhaustion at a game last year and had to go to first aid.

Good luck and stay cool!

Hey all. Crazy couple of days. Yesterday my uncle dies so I have to get everything together so I can be out on Monday for the funeral.

Last night was JImmy's sleepover. They were still away watching the Hulk when I went to bed at 11:30:scared1:.

Tomorrow we are headed to the Community Day the next town over and then on Sunday we are going to an Indian Pow Wow. The boys can earn some badges and stuff for scouts so it should be fun.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I am sure I will be checking in later.

Later:wizard:

How about Tombstone, Boothill. etc...Leo would probably love that.

My parents did that a few years ago and had a blast. My mom loved Tombstone so much she wants to make a period costume and move there. :rotfl2:

Jimmy should love that. Jim drives all over the state and talks about all the thuings he sees that we plan to do that ourselves.

Sorry about your uncle.

It is amazing how much stamina kids can have.

Well I am not going to the baseball game. I gave up my ticket so that Jim, my son and grandsons can go. I'm so upset can't you tell. :lmao:

It is so hot here that my air is running non-stop and it's still 80 degrees upstairs. I may be sleeping on the couch tonight. I can't wait til next week and the 80's. It's going to feel so nice. One more week and I'll be down the shore with the lovely sea breezes.

Have a good night.

Janet, for your loss. I'm so sorry.

**********************************
Well, I think I'm pretty ready to go. I have the cold food bought, but not packed in coolers yet because I don't know when we're leaving - the house isn't "ours" until 1:00, and we don't expect D's dad and stepmom until late afternoon. Other than that, though, I think I have the clothes and linens and dry goods ready.

I should have breakfast... ;)

I'll miss you all! Have a wonderful 9 days... :grouphug:

Changing of the Guard? I hope he has a safe flight, my sister flys here today! And no no lamp :rotfl2:

How about Shepherd's pie !!!!!

Hey again all. Janet sorry about your uncle!

There was one thing i forgot to mention about my making dinner, one of the guys is kosher only so it makes it very hard to cook. I have been making separate things for him. I love having people over but its hard planning for it esp. since we menu plan monthly.

How is everyone else...better question where is everyone else?!

I didn't think it was "all that" either. Plus, every time I hear Avatar, I think of the show in Nickelodeon.

Kat isn't Kosher not pork ???? Shepeherd's pie is made with ground beef !!!

Kat, isn't Kosher no meat or dairy together? Tacos he could put whatever toppings on he wanted or a big salad with meat on the side.

Janet, so sorry to hear about your uncle.

TE, beautiful pics.

Jo, Mitch and I were talking about England yesterday although he still doesn't know if he's getting leave. It would be in January if he does. He wanted me to get there before he does, rent a car, and get checked into a hotel. Have I mentioned I don't like being in charge? :rotfl:

CE, have a fun trip. :goodvibes

We're on a boil water alert for 2 days, so I've been boiling water to use in the bathroom. Of course water is something I never think of until I have to be careful. ;)

Hey again all. Janet sorry about your uncle!

Thanks Kat!

How is everyone else...better question where is everyone else?!

Vacations, summer events, etc.....

Wow that's quick

Nah, about normal for here.

Hey all a very busy but fun weekend for us. Yesterday (despite it being 99 with a heat index of 106:eek:) we went to the Plymouth Township Day (That's in the county over from us). They had moon bounces and a water slide for the kids and theyhad all kids of booths and stuff set up. We won $15 in Dave and buster Money, a $10 gift card for the mall, and Jimmy wona couple of stuffed animals (just what he needs:rolleyes:) There were local restaurants giving out free samples and local merchants having drawings for free stuff. It didn't cost Jim or I anything. It cost us $10 for Jimmy so he had unlimited time on the moon bounces and water slide:thumbsup2

Today we went to the Lenapre Pow Wow. Very interesting. Dancers, Artisans, and lots of stuff for the kids to do. TThey had a bunc of scout stuff organized too, so the boys were able to earn a belt loop AND work on a couple of requirements.:thumbsup2

We left at about 4:00pm and as we were pulling out of the parking lot the skies opened up. It was a PITA to drive in, but it helped drop the temperature about 20 degrees:woohoo:

Tomorrow is the funeral for my uncle. It starts at 9am, so we need to leave my brothers at 8:30, which means I need to leave my house by 7:30 to make sure I am in Jersey in time. Oh well, thats still later than I normally leave for work.

This is a pretty quiet week for us. Jimmy has a doctors appointment on Wednesday. I am working from home on Friday:yay: and then on Saturday we are going to have Jimmy's friend MAtt for the day. We have some tentative things planned, but they won't be finalized until later in the week when we see what the weather will be like.

Hope you all have a good rest of the night and a good Monday. See you all tomorrow afternoon!

So apparently he can only have kosher meats if he has meats at all. Dairy and meat can't be mixed so no cheese on anything, nothing with cream in it. I ended up making an enchilada lasagna for everyone and making kosher chicken and shredding it and doing it in a separate pan sans cheeses. it also cant be touched by utensils that have touched meat so 2 sets of silverware used. kinda a pain lol. I cant do without the cheese but thats me! His was more like a chicken quesadilla but whatever.

So who's watching True Blood?? It got good tonight, better than the last few episodes!

So you will be around in Novemberpopcorn::
I will. :woohoo:

Why? What did I miss?
I saw something on Twitter the other day but didn't pay much attention. Last night I got the automated call from the water company to announce the boil alert.

I am working from home on Friday:yay:
Too bad you can't do that all the time.

Mitch and I finally got on Skype and we can see each other but not hear each other. We're on the phone looking at each other on the computer. :rotfl: He said lots of people have headsets, so I'll get one and hopefully that will work.

glad you "kinda" got to chat! If he gets leave, how long will he have?

I vote for England too---you can see Jo and Daran said it was nice and that they speak English there! (well sort of!)

not doing a whole lot today---BA is going to Dollywood with her grandma tomorrow so need to wash clothes.
We had a good Raleigh cheer trip except it was hotter than 40....what-evers!

Taking Isabella to the vet soon---wearing OLD clothes as she gets sick every time. :sad2:

Don't want to discourage you but January isn't the best month here :rotfl2: Also remember we drive on the other side to you, if you're thinking of staying anywhere near London you don't need a car as no-one drives in the actual city, OK people do but only mad ones and cab drivers :rotfl2:

Nah, about normal for here.
Wow you need to wait at least 2 weeks here

Sounds like lots of fun :goodvibes

Hey :rotfl: And good luck at the vets!

I'm in another final :yay: This is the club foursomes (2 people taking alternate shots) where you have 1 low handicap and 1 high. My partner has been going through a tough time with her golf so this is a great confidence boost :thumbsup2

I have my final match tomorrow which is yet another semi, it's the club scratch and I have to play our best player so lots of fingers crossed please!

I know which is why I was surprised he suggested it.

You know you'll do well.

I got a Slingbox so Mitch can watch our tv over there. Of course I didn't get it set up right, and now I've really mucked it up. Good thing I know someone who can fix it. :thumbsup2

Listen People in England speak perfect ENGLISH!!!:rotfl2:Jo and I can't help that you americans slaughtered it !!!:lmao:

Angela I second Jo's comment on driving in London it is CRAZY!!!!!!!!:scared1:

I think to drive in England you may need an international licence ???? The roads are often very twistee !! Rumor has it they tied a carrot in front of adonkey and whereevr he walked they made the road :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Good morning all. Nevr got the chance to check in yesterday. It was a long day with the funeral for my uncle. Since I wasn't really familiar with the area where the church was, I drove to my brothers house and rode with him and my sister in law. Becasue of that I had to leave my house at 7:30am to get there by 8:30 when needed to leave his house to get to the church by 9:00, which is when the viewing started. We got there at 9:25 :headache: Traffic was awful. The church was in NJ, but then the cenetary was in PA so that was another long drive. Then afterwards, there was a luncheon and that was back in NJ. I didn't get home until 4:30:headache:

Didn't do much last night. PLayed some games with Jimmy. Watched Cake Boss, hung out with neighbor on the porch for a bit and then headed to bed.

Back at work this morning and my desk looks horrible so I need to get off here and get to work! Chat with you all later
