Happy Mothers Day !!!!


The girls and I are headed to my grandmas with my mom---should be a pretty day! She has beautiful roses so I love to get pictures with the girls there.
(and Grandpa has a giant GARDEN, Jo! )

My grandmother was admitted to the hospital Friday night with an infected leg. Her skin is so thin, that even if she just bumps it, it can tear. She tore some skin off about a month ago and apparently her leg wasn't healing correctly and was very swollen. Now she's on IV antibiotics and is doing fairly well. My aunt is staying with her whilst my parents are in Alaska and I know my mother will be berating herself for not realizing the leg was as bad as it was and/or leaving all together. They are coming home tonight anyway and there's nothing she could have done, but still.

Oh, no. I understand how your mom feels, but yeah, there's nothing more she could have done. to you all.

You all deserve much more than a day to be honored and thought of!!!

Oh Ellie only has 2 more teeth to lose, well as we were walking home from Church one had become slightly wobbily, well within half an hour it had come out, she reckons all by itself

D did get the boys up and out with no help from me, and I slept and slept. They cut practice short, which was nice. D's making me breakfast now - I asked the boys if they were going to do it, but Woody said, "No, Dad is. I'm going outside."

It's pretty and sunny right now, and I don't know what else we will do today. There are plans to go out to dinner - both a mother's day celebration and a kind of reward to Woody. He's been really full of anxiety and then also attitude lately, and this was a "if you can get through the weekend without a major blow up, we'll go out to eat at your favorite place" deal. It's a Mexican place that is pretty good for New England. Doesn't hold a candle to El Paso, but...

Kristel, what days are you doing MNSSHP, I have to order my tix, I think I'm going on 9/15, it's a Tuesday so I haven't rushed to buy it yet. Have you gone to a MnSSHP yet, they are so much fun. The parade and fireworks are worth the price admission (and I'm not a parade person, but LOVE Boo to You parade)

So Murph is coming over around 11:30 and we have a 12:45 reservation at Legal Sea Food. I offered to cook, but she rather go there (can't say as I blame her as my cooking isn't very good). Legal Seafood offers their regular menu as opposed to fixed one as so many places do on Mom's day. DB1 is taking her to a Jimmy Buffett concert in AC so that's his gift (not sure when the concert is and SIL hates going out on Mom's day with the crowds and such). And I have no clue where DB2 is (and don't really care except for Murph's feelings). It's Murph's turn with him (he and SIL trade years with the Mom's and I know they weren't with Murph last year as just the 2 of us went to Legal Seafood and shopping).

Can you all tell I'm still mad about last week, but yet again he did not plan anything and it's Mother's Day.

We're having a nice day so far. The kids, my dad and I went to church this morning and the cemetary. We are about to head to my grandma's for brunch and then my dad will grill some steaks tonight for dinner.

Not much going on here. Jimmy got me some impatiens for our yard then he took sosm eflowers to grandmom. For my exciting Mother's Day, I went grocery shopping and now I am doing

Only working 4 days this week. On Thursday Jimmy has a Doctor's appointment so I was only going to work a 1/2 day, but they needed someone to work the book fair on Thursday morning so I volunteered. It's only for 2 hours, so I will have some time to myself, whcih will be nice!

I so agree that the Fockers are my lifeline ! This is where I can vent, share, laugh and cry !! In return I get hugs when needed , love all the time and a good dose of nd!!! Happy Mother's Day, it seems like I haven't posted here in ages, but I do have a good excuse for not being around the last couple of days.

On Friday afternoon we had what the weather service is caling an "in land hurricane" the winds got up to over 105 mph. Trees down all over our town, power out for a majority of So. Illinois. Our county and 2 others have been declared state disaster areas. We live in an 8 story building on the 5th floor and the generator was only going to be running the elevators for about 48 hours. No way were we going to stay there with no power, we have been told it might be Tuesday or later before the power is back on, we decided to go to Bill's parents in Indiana. The problem... not enough gas to get there, but we found a Kroger yesterday and after spending over 3 hours in line we got gas .

We are safely in Indiana, with Ace, a jack russell/rat terrier (we call him the shedding dog because no matter how much you brush him more comes out.) Bill's mom is a cleaning freak and I thought Ace coming would put her in a panic. She has covered many sitting surfaces already with sheets/blankets , she says she can't believe how good he is . She sees him all the time at our house, we can't wait to get home.

T - LOVE the DL pics! I LOVED the storybook ride!

We had a wonderful time at Epcot and the GF tea & spa yesterday. Even if you don't think you like pedicures, you must get one. After walking around the parks, it felt amazing. When Tiggerbelle post about it on her TR, I'll post the link.

I could really use a pedicure! Flip flop season is here plus it's just noce to have done. Sorry to hear about your grandmother!

chi wanted to make me breakfast in bed for Mother;s day. She comes in here and wakes me up to ask where the pancakes are. Then she comes in and says she still can't find them. So I go downstairs to help. She tells me to go back to bed and she will bring me my breakfast. Then she comes back up here because she can't open the pancake package ( I got frozen pancakes and ready to eat bacon to make it easier for her). Then she asks me how to cook the bacon. Finally she brings me my plate and says she can't find any syrup. I tell her where it is and she brings it to me and crawls up in bed with me and asks "Can I have a bite?" I love being a mommy!

Nothing much going on here today. We just got back from a short walk around the neighborhood, mostly so KC could buy some new sneakers. We are about to go out and do some laundry in a few, KC is napping at the moment.

I think we are going to be doing Atlantic City the last weekend in July, provided KC gets the OK from his boss tomorrow! Then I have something to plan! even tho it takes no effort really lol.

Hey Everyone! Missed you!!!

Well, NotBob's friends FINALLY left today. Bob and the boys said that we'll celebrate Mother's Day next Sunday so that's good. Especially since I spent the three hours he was gone bringing them to the airport cleaning my house!

I am SO glad that they're gone. I am not going to bother griping, just leave it at that. Whew.

So, I read everything and we've got peeps going on trips soon! Lessa, Rosie and Mo! Lucky!!!! Hope you guys have a GREAT time!!!

I'm going to stay home tomorrow and veg out. I totally deserve it. Then Tuesday I'll go back to the gym.

Just finished reading. but i have a lot to do. Homework, studying, and whatever. ug. Very stressed and tired this weekend. Just got to make it through the week.

T has pictures of DL on page 246, post #3690. Oh T, I remember the story book canal. It’s been such a long time since I’ve been out there.Your kids are absolutely adorable!

DEB says Omicron hit a home run in T-ball!! She had a house full of boys. Evidently mice too. Chi kinda made her breakfast. Chi is a cutie!

RACHEL says Mike has got 3 blood clots in his leg. Hope he will be OK.

MO – We are going to the party on Sept. 29th. It’s a Tuesday. No I’ve never been to it. Doug and I skipped it last year. We had dinner at the Spirit of Aloha on Friday of our vacation. We took the monorail back to MK to pick up a bus to POR. Wow MK was a mad house with MNSSHP. I knew better than to book it for a Friday. I’m not much of a parade person either. I’ve seen lots of pics of it. I think I’ll like it. I know Rockie will.

I think we are staying at a time share hotel (HERE). I found a decent rate on a discount website. It's about $250 a night BUT it's for at least 5 of us, maybe 7, so split it'll be a lot cheaper. Esp. because weekends in AC are ridiculously priced! This place has a full kitchen also. Now if I can only get my friends organized and on the same page as me. lol.
