Forgot to say - lost the match, but it was MUCH closer and I feel like it was not all my fault, the way last week's was. We were very evenly matched, and whilst we all made some mistakes, it just turned their way - but it wasn't like I played like an idiot. :rotfl:

It was fun, too, because they were nice.

I got home about 15 minutes before the bus, and then we went to the boys' yoga and I'd promised Woody we could eat at the club restaurant. It was nice. They've just had showers and we're watching the pre-bedtime show. :thumbsup2

Buzz just lost another tooth, whilst brushing up. He lost one last Monday - right now he has 4 empty spaces in his mouth (he had a top front tooth pulled at age 4 and it's still not in - plus now the other top front tooth that was lost last Monday, and the two bottom teeth to the sides of the front ones.) It's a wonder he can eat. :rotfl2:

Dave made it safely to Turkey, but he's leaving tomorrow. He won't be back here until late evening, though.

I have my fun tennis in the morning, then I'll be a cleaning machine, I think.

Oh, let me see if one of the kids will take my picture, so you can see my cute new 'do! :)

BBL!
:grouphug:

Wow am I first for once????

:rotfl2: I raided photobucket and here's a Hellebore!

Well.......that's a heckova hella-bore! :lmao: It is pretty----I never know the names of plants. :rolleyes:

I've gotta start mulching the flower bed.....although I know Bear will just keep digging holes in it....he thinks it's great fun.:mad:

Ab is sick with upper resp crud..... and it's raining.....and the goats are unhappy cause the barnyard is shut off.........and I just suited up and drove the 4-wheeler down to their new "mobile" shelter (AKA tarp) and they followed me down..........and back up...........and want in the barn.:headache:

V! poor Leo and poor you!!!:hug:It's heartbreaking when your child hurts and you can't really do much to help! He really does have to work this out himself with a lot of good advice from a wondferful Mom!!:hug::flower3:

Kat I'm glad for your 7!!!!:worship:

Had a busy but good day !! Told my Bos about the interview and she cracked up !! Then took me out to lunch as a late Birthday pressie !! We walked to the restaurant down the street ,as the last time we went some fool GAL parked behind us and blocked us in ad if that wasn;'t enuff her car wouldn't start:scared1::lmao:

HI Fockers,

V- please give that adorable boy a hug :hug:

Janet - keep showing your great work ethic, I'm sure it is being noticed especially if others are taking that other attitude.

Kat - glad you are getting sleep

Kristel, I watch GH too, though I don't like it as much as I did

CE - HI sorry about your tennis match, tennis for you is like gold is to Jo huh?

JO - nice flower, how's the Mom's panel these days

I just checked that Magic Meets site, too far for me to do a day trip. Too bad, I might have gone if I didn't have to stay over.

So I have to deal with the Big 4 accounting firms with my job, another reason I am still busy as all the reports I did for year end are now being incorporated into tax returns. So there is this one CPA at one of the Big 4 that is nothing but a bully, well, I am not her admin, though she seems to think I am. I keep pushing back on things as we are not paid for the work she is asking for. She called the client to say how uncooperative I am one too many times and now she has my SR VP calling her boss to complain. I hope she hears it from her boss. I know she is crazy busy with tax season, but to ask me or my staff to perform admin duties that we are not contracted for is just over the line. And now the client is ticked off at all this nonsense. Lucky for me with the realignment of responsibilities going on at work, this is one of the clients I am dropping so I won't have to deal with much more. (Unfortunately I am getting more clients than I am giving up;))

:wave2: Hi peeps! Just poppin' for a few - gotta head out to pick up Maddie and then take Waldo to the Dr. to have a procedure to see where we stand. Send him lots of good juju, mojo and pixie dust, k?

:wave2: Hi T! :hug::wizard::hug::wizard:for both you and Waldo.

:hug::hug: :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Sadly it's worse. :sad2:

I don't have time for a full explanation, but Leo's got some problems with school and it seems to boil down to a class full of mean kids. I don't really think he's being bullied exactly, but he's just closing up and refusing to participate in activities to avoid them and their mean ways. Apparently the teacher has tried all she can and these kids are just nasty. With 2 months left and a new school next year, there's not a whole lot I can do. He's doing fine academically, so we'll talk tonight and hopefully help him have faith to open up to his teacher, if no one else. It's breaking my heart. :sad1:

:hug: Leo and V.

Lori is trying to figure out what classes to take this Summer/Fall. She is learning about financial aid for the first time too! Good luck with the classes and the money.

Thanks Kristal. I think I have it pretty much down on what I need to take. Most of my business, english and general credits transfer so I pretty much only have to take the medical classes. Doesn't mean I'll be done in a less amount of time just that I might be able to do a double major.

Oh, let me see if one of the kids will take my picture, so you can see my cute new 'do! :)

:grouphug:

OOOOOOO...can't wait to see! Yay to Woody on the new lost tooth and sorry about tennis.

Lindsey came home with a yellow card today from school as well. This entire week has been bad but today was the topper. She lost playtime for tomorrow afternoon as well. She's just not listening to the teacher and is in general misbehaving in class. :sad2:

I had a feeling this was going to happen but was so hoping it wouldn't. :sad2: Back to the drawing board for us.

Do you think it has to do with spending so much time with her father over the weekend? Does the teacher know that she was with him? Not that it makes it okay for her to misbehave, but maybe it explains it a bit??? :confused3

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, I had a pretty boring day today. We didn't end up going swimming at the Y because as soon as we got home from picking up DD5 from preschool, the girls were fighting like crazy. So, I became "Mean Mom" and made them pick up the playroom instead. By the time they were done with that, we had run out of time to go swimming. They ended up just playing with friends instead.
Tomorrow is another pretty lazy day. Nothing going on except gymnastics at 1pm. The only thing I have to do is track down someone at Home Depot. We bought a new storm door on Saturday and were supposed to be called within two business days to schedule installation. Well, it's been three and no one has called yet. So, I'm calling them first thing in the morning to figure out when we're getting our new door installed! :mad:
Jodi, I was wondering the same thing about Lindsey, if it had anything to do with being with her dad this past weekend. I hope you get the storm door situation worked out, they should have called you by now :mad:.
V - Sorry about the situation with Leo, I hope it gets worked out soon :hug:.
puggymom - sorry about the work situation, it sounds like a mess :sad2:.
Sorry I haven't addressed everyone, I need to come on here in the day time to keep up.
-----------------------------------------------
Today was pretty boring. Have been setting up some appointments to see about getting Bill a new wheelchair. He has been uncomfortable for some time and we looked it up he has had that chair for over 7 years now, so we got the scripts for a PT/OT evaluation to see what they suggest we get.
They have those chairs that stretch out a bit to get him in a different position so he doesn't cramp up as much, he was really opposed to one of them and finally told me why. If you have one of those, you have a head rest, he doesn't want one, doesn't want to look any more disabled than he already does, because people make enough wrong assumptions about him as it is. So we discussed it, what does he care about more, his comfort or the opinions that strangers have about him. They already have formed an opinion the moment they see him come in the room.
I think he is at least considering it now, thank goodness. I can't stand to see him in pain :sad1:.
Hi all. Quick drive by. It is 11:39 according to the clock on my computer and I am just getting finsihed working:headache: Going to bed now. May not be able to check in utnil lunch time tomorrow.
Hugs to all who need them and I "see" you all tomorrow.
Mo - I'm going to email you about Magic Meets!:thumbsup2
Good luck with your windows!
Another one here Lori who straight away thought about her being at her Dad's! Hope you get it sorted :hug:
Good Morning all!!! Got a bus day Training and then yet another meetng and I have to do money today so it's gonna be a long one !! Hopefully chat tonite !! Have a good one !
Hey, everyone!
I read through, but didn't comment. Sorry. Know that I am thinking of all of you. :hug:
I got a call last night from the captain of my friend's next-level-up team. They always get a couple of courts to just play around on Thursday, and someone can't make it, so she asked me to play. This is just for fun, not a match, so I said sure. So, now I have my lesson from 9-10:30 and am playing from 12-1:30, too.
Wonder why Mo thinks my tennis is like Jo's golf? :confused: :rotfl2:
I should have said no, so I could spend time getting ready for Mom, but having cleaned the bathrooms yesterday, I don't have that much to do. The clutter is still relatively cleared up from Dr. Belle's visit, and if I vacuumed today, the dog would just shed everywhere again by tomorrow afternoon, anyway. :rolleyes:
Since I'm not volunteering again tomorrow (another assembly), I should be fine. :thumbsup2
There's a "Principal's Story Hour" tonight at school, so we'll go to that. It should be fun, but I'm kind of bummed to lose a "no hurry, no stress" night, because I think I'll be dragging them out of the school, trying to hurry for bed, etc. Oh, well. They really want to go, so...
So, I need to run - gotta get on the tennis gear - but I hope everyone has a fantastic day. :goodvibes :grouphug:
Morning :goodvibes
I'm keeping up but have little time to post. I hope everyone has a great day. I'll try to check back in later and chat a bit.
:grouphug:
Morning Ladies...
Janet...:sad2: THAT WAS TOO LONG of a Day...:hug: So when are you taking a day off ??
Sarabeth has just finished a MONSTER SCIENCE test. She worked so hard for this test. I pray she did well and FINISHED the test.
Gotta make my "Wal-mart" Run.. but I sure wish I was in Florida... Go ahead Angela and V... tell me how warm it is.
It is RAIN CENTRAL here and temps back in the 40's as it has been most of the week. :mad:
Jodi... I got your message. I told you all would be fine with Hannah. I just had a "feeling."
i'm back finally!! been busy this week with work.
skiing was okay. i skiied (sp?) for about 30 minutes! :rotfl2: regan and masen were both falling down, so mike was trying to ski with both of them. they kept going in opposite directions!! so here i am , just trying to stay upright. i see masen going down the little hill ( we were just playing around at the bottom, not really on the slopes). so i try to ski over to him and i fall flat on my a&&. :rotfl2::rotfl2: i look up and mike is right beside me talking to people from his work. you know i would fall right in front of these people i've never met! ugh! :rotfl2: so, regan is getting frustrated and is completely done with the whole skiing thing. i took her on the deck area to get a drink. (soda for her, beer for me!)
mike took masen and gage on the lift to the bunny slope. gage was doing great on his own. i was really proud of him. well, you can only sit 2 people on the lift, so mike rode with masen and gage rode by himself. only, at the top of the bunny slope, he couldn't get off the ski lift and it started going back down the mountain! :scared1: so , he yells "help, help". the guy stopped the lift and helped him get off. he was fine, but just scared and crying! i would be too, poor thing. he went down the bunny slope just fine, but was done after the scare on the lift. i took gage and regan to the store while mike and masen skiied. they had a blast. they skiied for about 2 hours. who would've guessed the 3 yr old would have been the best skiier??? :rotfl:
i knew it would be interesting! we swam in the lodge pool and played on the playground the other 2 days. it was really cool in the mountains. the deer came right up to you! i opened my room door and there was a deer right on the sidewalk in front of our room. well, of course i scared him away when i opened the door. for the most part, we had a good time. mike and i need to take a trip alone next year, so i can practice. then, i can help the kids without falling down. can't wait for the beach. it's more my type of vacation!!
i've tried to skim over, but so much to read! hello to all! :hug:
okay , funny or maybe frustrating ER story! we have been so busy at work lately. i mean running our a%%'s off busy! we literally barely get to sit down for 12 hours. the only break we get is a quick potty break or a quick smoke break. so , you run, run, run and then people are witching and yelling at you because they've had to wait so long. wait in the waiting room, wait for test results. i get so mad!! it's a small er , only 14 beds. so, these people can see us running around from room to room. can you not tell we're trying people!! i'm sorry to vent, but it makes me so mad. people can be downright rude and evil. we're supposed to be nice, but sometimes i can't keep my mouth shut. i just think, why should i let these people talk to me like that?? i'm really nice to all my patients and i explain to them the wait times and what / why we're waiting. a lot of times, people understand. but, then you have the others that are evil!
so the last night i worked there were about 10 waiting to be seen in the waiting room with every er room full, hallways full of stretchers. i go out to the waiting room bring a patient back. this woman says, "this guys in a lot of pain, he needs to go back now" mind you this woman is not even with this guy! and the guy she is talking about has foot pain. not chest, head , or abdominal pain! i said well, we on ly have so many rooms and they're all full. the hallway is full too. we're trying our best, but you're just going to have to be patient! i looked at the guys foot, felt his pulse. his foot was pink, good pulse. it was not even swollen! ( he was out of his pain meds) i felt like saying dude, your foot is not going to fall off, be a grown man and wait your turn! but, i didn't.
then , this obnoxious, dirty lady brings in her 10yr old for leg pain. the little girl's leg is not hurting now. no injury. she's walking around the waiting room fine. well, they wait about 3 hours to get to a room. when x ray was back , i go in the room to discharge them. the mother says " i don't know why he even did an x ray, i didn't want him to do one. i knew it would be negative. i told him it was just growing pains or muscle pains." i know my face was a cross between , are you freaking kidding me and huh? :rotfl2: okay lady, so why exactly did you come to the er if you didn't want an x ray and you knew it was muscle or growing pains. that's some pretty expensive ice and motrin!
okay, rant over!! i'm sorry, i just had to vent! these people just literally suck the life and compassion out of you. what makes me the angriest , is that it takes away from the people who really need to be in the er. i have to spend wasted time on the stupid stuff, when i could be helping someone who truly needs it!
am i just being mean??
Morning. Nothing good about it. :sad2:
Leo and I had a long talk last night and the situation is far worse than I'd imagined. He's being bullied, big-time. He said lots of the kids are man, just as his teacher told me, but 3 boys are actively bullying him, including hitting him in the head, kicking him, punching him in the stomach, using "bad words", and threatening "I'll punch you in the face." No wonder my poor baby never has much to say about school and is withdrawn there; he's just trying to stay safe. He said he's reported incidents to teachers, but nothing changes and he fears retribution from the offenders, so he doesn't tell anymore. He's living every single day in fear and distrust of authority - NOT a recipe for a happy school environment.
I sent an email to his teacher this morning, explaining everything he told me and asking what our options are. I specifically said I want him separated from the bullies. I don't know what will happen form here. :guilty:
Thanks for all the hugs; it helps. :grouphug:
I swear, sometimes I think we're living parallel lives! :hug:
Not at all. :hug: This is exactly why my mother doesn't want to work in ER; the old folks' homes are frustrating enough!
