HEY GOOD TO SEE JANET POSTING!

Hi Fockers from BWV, just started my live trip report, stop by and spend my vacation with me!

Off to get some dinner now.

Later!

Hi Mo! :ave2:

I was going to call you, I thought you leftnext week. Are you live updating here or am I missing a link? (No comments please:rotfl:)

HI JANET!!!! Miss you! Get Better Soon!

Welcome Ingrid! I'm Kat. 33, working at the World of Disney NYC currently. having a lot of drama with my DH, as i'm sure u read. There are some great ladies so welcome aboard!

Thanks for the recap. I knew somethings were going on but did not realize it was this serious. Glad he agreed to therapy.

Yea more for me than for him, but if it helps either or both of us i'd be happy.

Not at all. Just be sure YOU want the changes, too - I don't want to you to alter yourself just for him, you know? Because, you know, I like you as you are. :hug: But, I could see that if you want to get "back to the person you were" that makes total sense.

I wouldn't change just for him. I need to be more self reliant and more social in general. I want to be a part of a healthy relationship, where we both have our own lives but one together as well.

KAT says KC is giving marriage advice. Which she thinks is helping him too. They had a wedding to go to on Saturday.

I admire your strength and courage. As long as you both know that change has to happen, I think that is a good thing. It takes 2 to screw it up. It will take both of you to fix it!

Thats for sure, I just need to get him in the fight with me!

Sounds like a great anniversary!!! And a good price for the whole meal!

So sorry about Rockie's mom- good thoughts going her way!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So yesterday was the longest day ever!!!!
We picked up the car at noon. GREAT car, a 2010 Mazda 3. We headed to Long Island and got to where we wanted to go around 2pm. Traffic was yucky. Then we got rained out of Port Jefferson and the nice seafood meal I had planned and romantic walks along the marina. So we went to a nearby mall. We found one of Bobby Flay's "Bobby's Burger Palace" restaurants and had some GREAT burgers there and an awesome shake. We ended up napping in the car for a bit , getting dressed in it and heading to the wedding early. We were there about 1/2 hour before it started and then it didn't actually start till about 8pm(an hour late). Since it rained they had to move it inside.
This was the most food I have EVER seen at a wedding! First there was a cocktail hour, with hot food and cold food and a full bar. The cheese spread alone was amazing. THEN we go into another room and there was a salad, app course, dinner course and wedding cake AND other desserts! Every bit of food was amazing! Blue cheese and walnut salad, seared tuna app, Caribbean sea bass entre and red velvet cake. It was insane. We were so full. I bawled through the whole ceremony, KC cried a bit as well. Then we danced a few slow songs and just generally had a nice time. It went really late tho!!!!
We didnt leave until 1am! Then we had to stop at his friend from work's for a new work phone and then drive the car back to the parking garage and THEN get a cab home. it took forever. we got to bed at 5am!!!! :scared1:
So I am tired today but relaxing is nice. Tomorrow I have a friggin call in at work, but hopefully i wont have to go and I can take my 8 hour security class and get that underway. Honestly I am done with Disney and these call-ins. If i can get that worked out then I'll stay but otherwise I may leave.
Anyways i'm gonna upload the pics and then we are watching a bootleg movie and then True Blood! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! :hug:
Kristel, that fondue looks Delicious!
Thank you for a pretty HELLO:goodvibes
Hi Janet I am sorry to hear that you are sick. Did I read that it happened after you got home?
Thanks Tracy:goodvibes
Hi Janet I am sorry to hear that you are sick. Did I read that it happened after you got home?
Unfortunately it happened on the 2ns say of our trip :sad:
Wooohoooo what did you think of that third question? Hard wasn't it!!!!! Good luck :goodvibes
That was the only question I wish I would have done a bit differently. I forogt to mention the FB and Twitter accounts I have too. I just took the opportunity to try and sell myself a bit. Whatever happens, happens. I'm not going to stress over it. :cutie:
The goats ride 4 wheelers?:confused3
It's so good to have Janet back! :hug:
Well of course, Tragos and Snickers each have their own! They really like chasing the cows! :lmao:
I'm trying to decide if spelling "teenage" like that is a new super-cool internet way or just because you are severely visually impaired! I'm going with super-cool! :thumbsup2
Making fun of the hurt Fockers, are ya? Not cool. ;)
:laughing:
Hi Fockers from BWV, just started my live trip report, stop by and spend my vacation with me!
Have fun! I'm going to check it out now... :surfweb:
So, if you're friends with me on FB, you may have noticed that I enrolled my two youngest kiddos in public school Friday. I don't really want to talk about the whys other than to say that it's something I've been thinking about for several months. I finally felt like the time was right, so I went in and got things ready for them to start tomorrow. They are super excited. I'm excited too now that I'm over the sadness of realizing this will be the first time in 12 years I've been home wihtout a kid to watch and before then, I worked full-time.
I just thought I'd share. I set up a coffee date with a girlf firend and I promised the kids I will come to lunch with a special lunch for them tomorrow, so I don't know how much I'll be around.
Thanks for understanding that I don't want to debate my choice. I swear everyone around me has been weighing in on my decision. I don't get why people think they get to have a say in my choices for my kids. I finally starting telling people I just don't want to talk about it. That seems to be helping. :thumbsup2
So, thanks for being here for me once again. :grouphug:
Well, Dawn---I hereby invest you with the authority to raise your own children! (but this also comes with the responsiblity of seeking group support when they drive you nuts! :hug:;))
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow---you'll be surprised how much you will find to fill your days--and school days are really pretty short--plus all the running afterwards!
Thanks Dawn!:hug:
If the kids are happy and you are happy that's a;; that matters. :hug:
My kids are happy---they each have 4 wheelers! :rotfl:
__________
why oh why oh why did TruBlood end???
And why is it not coming on again until June 2010???
Wow Kristi---are you really looking at that cruise? We booked it cause our 20th anniversary is 5/19---and it goes to Ocho Rios where we spent our honeymoon! The scary part is Ab is already excited about us leaving.....:confused3
\
Yep, it's on the list we are considering. We are waiting on an answer from BIL as far as dates.
Dawn :hug:, you are being a great Mom doing what you think is best for YOUR children.
We booked our wedding.:banana:
Yay! That's so exciting!
After we check into the hotel, we will go for dinner, come back and tell them I have something on the laptop for them to see:
Really cool. I know you really want to tell them. They are going to be sooo surprised.
cUB sCOUTS TOMORROW AND THEN HIS 1ST SOCCER GAME ON sUNDAY
How was soccer? Ds is playing baseball now. I was soooo disappointed. Soccer is so much more fun to watch.
******************************************
Just back from the meeting about Book Fair with the former chair.
Is this the Scholastic book fair? Do you know how much of the proceeds the school gets to keep? Just wondering b/c ds is at a new school and they sent a flyer home saying that they get 50% of the sales from those catalog sales. I thought that sounded like a lot. I was thinking it was more like 20%. Anyway, they were asking parents to send in money, rather than doing the catalog sales. I'd rather do that anyway. The library at the school has hardly any books. They have empty shelves and the shelves that have books are only 1/4 full. The playground only has a slide and a couple of swings.
Hi fellow DISers!:hug:
:wave: I'm Mary. Glad to have a new Focker.
I have 2 kids - boy (8) and girl (4).
We live in Ga.
I played rubbish today, like really bad, David was walking round and I just always feel as though he's judging me
Before I read the entire sentence I was thinking that "rubbish" must be some new game they have in England. :rotfl2:
Hope you are having better golf days.
We are leaving for WDW in two weeks (or so...) with a few other members here at TFW. Can't wait!
I'm doing laundry now that the washer is fixed. It cost $184 to fix it, but really what price happiness? LOL I hate the laundramat. :eek:
I wish someone would have emailed me about the date change. I booked Oct 10 b/c I thought that was the girl's weekend.
Glad the washer is fixed.
Then he comes back from talking to HR and says it is all worked out and that I will be going back to fulltime. I was like WTH did I just agree to? I thought it would be working extra hours, at home, as needed. He's talking about 45-50 hours per week - EVERY WEEK!! I have come to rely on my day off.
I hear ya on the day off. I was just telling dh that I loved it when I worked 4 by 10's b/c of the day off and loved it even more when I was part time.
Hope you're all having a nice Friday! :grouphug:
Hey CE!
Good news/comforting to know is that in previous years every single person in the Pre-Health class who got the minimum required 2.8 GPA (75%) was given a place in the Nursing program which only has 70 seats. That made me a bit nervous before but now I feel better about. I of course am aiming to get much higher than a 2.8 in order to be extra competitive.
Sounds like a good plan!
Hey if I don't get on the boards again you allknow where I'll be !!!! We have the carrier on top of the van and all but 2 suitcases in there or the back of van sooooo we are set Jst a few things to be tossed in tomorrow morning and that's it !!!
Bye Rosie! Have fun.
My DH had forgotten our 11th anniversary. :mad::mad: It's not for a few weeks, but he just asked if he could attend a fraternity gathering that night. I'm not about to remind him. I'm just plain hurt at him. :sad1:
I would be upset, too. I would just plan on celebrating the next night, though.
(oh---I booked my cruise BTW---5/16/2010 on Carnival Freedom...just the 2 of us...and we're virgin cruisers so any advice appreciated!
I think you will have fun. I hear Carnival is the party boat.
but I am still getting tired very easily, so I take a nap everyday :sad. (Are you all sorry you asked)
Take care of yourself. Don't forget to take the Iron pills.
I need a sports bar in my sunroom!
Definitely. Then everyone will be over for every game.
That brings us to our actual celebration day, Sept. 12th!
We celebrated at our all-time favorite restaurant: Maple Corner.
Sounds like you had a great anniversary. Love all the pics.
We picked up the car at noon. GREAT car, a 2010 Mazda 3. We headed to Long Island
This was the most food I have EVER seen at a wedding!
Sounds like you had a good time.
By the way - yuck with the bedbugs. Are they all out of your place now?
So, if you're friends with me on FB, you may have noticed that I enrolled my two youngest kiddos in public school Friday.
You have to do what's best for your family. I think it is great that you homeschooled this long. It definitely is a major commitment and so time consuming. You are a great mom! Are you going to change your name now? Maybe you can me nothomeschoolmama.
How was soccer? Ds is playing baseball now. I was soooo disappointed. Soccer is so much more fun to watch.
We had a rough start, he wouldn't get onto the field. Once he did though he had a ball. He liked playing goalie/defender best. Mom - I didn't let one ball get past me! I think it's becasue it has the least amount of running aroung:lmao:
.
We do the scholastic at Jimmy's school fair. What the school gets all depends on what deals scholastic offers. 50% of catalogs is one of the usual ones. Once the sale is complete, The school will be given an amount that they have to spend to get books for classrooms and libraries. They also get to keep some of the other stuff the sell too (posters, pencils, bookmarks, etc) that the teachers use for their prize boxes, etc
Good Morning all. Jim and Jimmy are off to work and school. A little better today, the left eye seems to be better than the right:confused3. Beautiful day here and I can't go anywhere :sad:
I think my project for today will be packing up the clothes jimmy has outgrown and cleaning out my hall closet, exciting eh? Maybe some laundry??? Boy if those were your choices what would you pick - LOL.
Wanted to send extra hugs to Dawn today too:hug::hug::hug:
BTW - Where's V?:confused3
:rotfl2: Let me sign myself up for dinner at your house some time. You are safe with me for sure! Between Doug and the dogs, my house is never completely organized.
I'm glad you don't suck at tennis.
Anytime, and thanks! :goodvibes
We celebrated at our all-time favorite restaurant: Maple Corner.
It's located in Covington, In off I-74. I've been a patron for too many years to say. It was established a long, long, time ago in a galax........oops! You know what I mean.
It's quaint, homey, not too fancy but nice. The food has always, always been excellent. Let us view some pictures, shall we.
Sounds yummy. Never been there, but we routinely would drive (and my parents still do) to Covington for The Beef House. Rolls, yummo! :lmao: How does it compare?
Looks like a great dinner, and you look fine - not at all "altered". ;)
Also......:sad1:
On the way home from our dinner, I got a call from my BFF, Rockie. Her mother is in the critical care unit at one of the hospitals.
Please send good thoughts and prayers. She is very worried.
Oh, no. Best thoughts heading her way. :hug:
hey guys! my first weekend with no school! I get about 1 litle week of summer break and i am enjoying it!
Sounds great!
I made a roast in the crockpot. It will be 3 nights of dinner. We will have it tonight, have left overs tomorrow, and then I will make a beef pot pie on Tuesday. Gotta love saving money!
Sounds good to me!
I can't wait until DH's work sends him (me) another one. ;)
:rotfl2:
I have had a headache for over a week and can't seem to shake it. I'm going to take a bath and see if that will help. :worship:
Oh, feel better. :hug: I had a headache all weekend - not a migraine, felt more like sinus. It stinks.
.....my farmville ducks are quacking now and Bear looks confused! I think he wants to find them!
:rotfl:
Hiya, Mo! :)
I wouldn't change just for him. I need to be more self reliant and more social in general. I want to be a part of a healthy relationship, where we both have our own lives but one together as well.
:thumbsup2 Good deal.
Thanks for understanding that I don't want to debate my choice. I swear everyone around me has been weighing in on my decision. I don't get why people think that they should give you unasked-for opinions. :confused: Do what you feel is right. Hope the day goes well. :hug:
It is, but I'm not sure about this yet. We do a live fair during the parent-teacher conference week. I know we get most of the money on the books sold, plus some "vouchers" based on bonus stuff such as "having a teacher preview" or "held a fair related contest". They've changed the program this year, and so the lady that was telling me how to do it wasn't even sure how it was going to work. I meet with our Sales Rep next Wed. :thumbsup2
I think my project for today will be packing up the clothes jimmy has outgrown and cleaning out my hall closet, exciting eh? Maybe some laundry??? Boy if those were your choices what would you pick - LOL.
We went through all our fall clothes the day before school. I delivered 4 bags to my neighbor with the large-scale DS4. :rotfl: I actually kind of enjoy it - getting stuff out of my house generally makes me happy. Of course, I then had to buy a bunch more clothes that would fit them, so I don't know how much it really helped. :rotfl2:
So, yeah, Monday...
We went up to the boat yesterday. The forecast was for 77 and sunny. It may have been 77, but it was totally cloudy and in fact sprinkled a couple of times. Once you get wet, going even 30 on the water makes it freezing. So, it was an OK day, but not ideal. I think we are probably about done. We may do some "leap peeping" from the boat if the leaves change sometime soon, but will go in our long pants, sleeves, jackets, etc. and not plan on swimming at all. The boys don't like that kind of day, though, so who knows?
Anyway, since it was a school night, we got off the water a little earlier than normal, had dinner at a restaurant up there, and the boys still fell asleep in the car on the way home, even though we were home within normal bedtime range.
I was told on Thursday that we will indeed have my level of tennis team again this year, and that we're starting team drills today. However, this all came from the nice, but disorganized, pro and I have this feeling I'll show up for team practice and be the only one there. :lmao: That's at 11:30.
D is going to his hangar/office - he has a trip tomorrow, but I think it's just overnight. However, my friend whose DH works with him is also flying this trip, and she was nearly sure that they're not back until Thursday. :rotfl: She's having outpatient hip surgery Wed. and I am picking her up, so we were discussing logistics of getting her van back to her house, and she thought her DH would have D take him to pick up her van on Thursday... I guess we'll find out who's right today when D checks it out at work. :lmao:
Really, that's about it. I'm not in love with the team drill time, as it kind of kills the whole day by being in the middle of it, but oh well. I have said that I will skip these if I do get to do sub jobs. :confused3
I hope you all have terrific starts to your week. :goodvibes
Sounds good to me!
My girlfriend and I do the same thing. She gives me clothes her older son has outgrown for Jimmy and then I give her everything Jimmy has outgrown for her younger son. It saves ton of money becasue then I only have to go get a few basics each season. Underwear, some t-shirts, etc. It's great.
Sounds like you are like me. 1st thing in the morning and get it over with so I can have the rest of the day to do stuff!
------------------
Um, yeah haven't started any of my to do list:rolleyes:
Oh sure, I'm back and everyone leaves me to talk to myself;)
--------------------
Got the ahll closet cleaned out, Jimmy's dresser cleaned and straightened, as well as his closet. I was surprised at how much still fit him, so I'm not giving much back to my girlfriend this go around. He is still wearing shorts and T's (It's 81 here today) and I think some of it will fit him again next summer:banana:
I do have to get out to Kohl's now that the fall stuff is out. He needs a few long sleeve t-shirts and a ne rain coat with a lining. He has a Wall-E raincoast for when it is warm, but now that it is getting chillier he needs one with a lining. Dpeneding on what time I get out of the doctor tomorrow my girlfiend said she would take me (Hopefuly it won't be a 3 hour appointment like last time:mad:). Gotta use that 30% off coupon ;)
